Love this picture.Have a bit of a thing about Monach butterflies and the fact it's called Hope.
I don't think it's too dark,I like the darkness and that your eye is drawn to the orange of the butterfly.

FABULOUS! Not too light, Not too dark, just enough light over the arms towards the hands holding the butterfly. Which by the way was a kick ass touch to color. Don't be surprised to hear this over and over again, fabulous job girl.
