Description
Full Name: Fishstrument (Eugnathostomata Musicus)approx 10' long, 5' wide
made out of broken instruments, bolts, and some metal bars from home depot
the things along the spine are actually piano keys, but the white/ black sides are facing away from the camera
I got rid of the background because it was distracting, but i couldn't erase all of it without compromising the fish- so thats the weird dark fuzzy junk around the edges.

Oh, very nice. The sheen above it's head reminds me of an anglerfish.

You should do a picture with you laying down next to it (or standing up, I can't tell if it's on the floor or in front of a wall/backdrop in the photo) . It looks so small this way.
Aside from that, beautiful work, clever title, extremely well executed.

Any tambourines in there?
And it would be nice if you could have edited out the glare.
Also you forgot the ratchet!
Among the smaller percussion, and quite possibly the loudest percussion, no amplification needed.

alas, there are no tambourines. i was working with a limited supply of instruments. and i admit, the editing was a bit hasty. It's also very hard to photograph it now, as it is installed and hanging from a very high ceiling.

blast.
But you should know it's inspired an idea for my second practical work in Visual Arts Studies. So thank you.

Do you have more photos of this, from other angles? I'd love to see them. Being a musician, I find this really interesting and creative. It looks fantastic, I'm impressed how you used the different instrument pieces. Especially the drum heads, drum rims, and cymbals. The black belly part- are those from drum shells or something else entirly?

I have a few more angles that i can upload, but it's rather difficult to photograph as it is installed in the peak of a rather high ceiling. The belly is in fact made of bass drum shells, and the end of the tail is all rims, as is the lower jaw. glad you liked the piece

thanks
all the instruments were irreparable, and donated by my mother, a middle school band teacher.

It looks like it could be something out of a surrealist fantasy.
