Description More cool military-style hotness using genuine mock-lego from some asian country. This stuff is so bogus that it isn't even compatible with real LEGO, like all the other fakes. Makes a cool tank though.

THat's awesome. I guess knockoff lego is significantly more affordable than the real thing.

It's the shipping cost that's the killer. It's usually almost twice the cost of the bricks themselves.

holy moly! It must still be cheaper than "real" lego though, right? That stuff costs an absolute bomb. I guess it's cheaper to buy in bulk though. Can you do that, or do you just buy loads of kits?

Well, the set I made _this_ from was about $5.00 but it was a mish-mash of several sets, most of which were incomplete. The tank set had no treads but twice as many wheels, no body or turret and so on. The helicopter was complete, at least but it was useful to supplement the tanks parts. I used the treads from a differet set and was able to make this item.(and these, as well: [link] [link]
What really kills is the shipping cost for some of this stuff; there are some awesome military sets from China that are pretty fair quality and reasonable price but the shipping is usually twice or three times the purchase price.

Very nice. $5 is really not a lot. I expect with shipping it's still way cheaper than lego here. At least when i used to get lego, you got tiny kits for quite a lot of money. Maybe now you get more. Some of the big Star Wars lego kits have tonnes of pieces. Most modern lego isn't really "lego" anymore. It's all "special pieces. Also, WTF is "bionicle" about?

I was interested in mock-Lego because I wanted to be able to make military vehicles; regular Lego doesn't have anything like that. I got some really nice tanks and other vehicles and with all the combined pieces, I can make up anything I want. I agree with you that modern Lego is too specialized and has too much emphasis on making what is in the instructions and not using your imagination. Here is a link that will explain "Bionicle."
