Нет,я не из Питера. А напоминает, хм, в принципе в Оверкингсах все карты так сделаны, можно в гугле поискать там будут и побольше локации, на них правда уже больше штампованности, но это оправданно, так как первая (эта) локация была тестовой и на ней слишком много времени ушло на достижение естественности, на которую никто особо и не смотрит, даже я сам.) Да и техника подобного миксованого матпэинта должна думаю встречаться и в других местах, я бы с удовольствием посмотрел кто еще что то подобное делает, интересно же очень.

This work took me a lot of time in physical size it is a 2x2 screen, about 1000 layers in Photoshop. Used 7 pictures of trees and 5 bushes, 2 slopes, 2 images of piles of stones. Using them, and the image of grass 300x300 pixels, plus the same size tile moss (as a substrate for wood), I created a landscape. After which were added buildings and fences, and painted trails.

interesting method! never thought of that. so you use real life pictures on the game art. it's strange because it feels it is all hand painted or something...
