Sculpting molding and casting process of the sergal jaws and tongue....

First sculpted from clay, the top jaw, bottom jaw and tongue were then individually molded in silicone.
I then used white resin poured into each tooth cavity to make the teeth; once set the pink resin was poured on top of that.

The tongue was cast in silicone with two pour holes sculpted into the mold itself. Casting silicone into a silicone mold requires a careful use of mold release and even still I had some curing issues on the surface of the finished tongue. This was solved by applying a thin layer of Silpoxy to the surface. I think doing so also gave the tongue a more realistic wet appearance in the end.
