We have to hand it to the Batman franchise (looking at you movies and tv shows) the dude is a beacon of masculine violence born from fear and revenge. Which is heavy shit if it were to happen to one of us. From almost 1 to 1 comic book style, to avant-garde gothic art, to retro-90s self referential-ism/depreciation, to high tech realistic violence and then to graphic novel fan service noir. While almost every other hero has changed his race, his gender and lost his soul in the process. Batman still kept his origin story demons and the ones that attached themselves to him through his last 5-6 iterations. It shouldn't be racist to want to keep him white or sexist to prefer his testosterone be manufactured from 100% organic Batballs. I could give a shit about Batwoman's gender or race, becasue I was born not giving a fuck about shitty discount network shows with an agenda. Notice how the Disney Marvel Universe was everywhere and then nowhere, in theaters and in staying power it's flash in the pan media.Snyder lost final cut, yet Affleck kept the Bat's dignity meter at a respectable level even when Whedon's generic bullshit was painted on with broad strokes only a pompous hack could muster. Every hero in history changed to be inclusive, yet losing the image and vision that made them iconic... But once they come after Batman, that's when the nukes should start flying. Because that's when they come after us.
