With the powers of the Postmodern Theory invested in me. I can say that without a doubt, that this is an homage to the beginning of (some) Castlevania games where we pan from our hero and up to our destination. This simple shot should imply the frets, pitfalls and unknown situations that await you. I can also say, that Max is secretly gay and he's going to ride that south american dick to become King of Dick (El Blanco Jefe El Peno Carajo). Either way, postmodernism is a shortcut to idiocy 99% of the time.

I see that I ruined the article again, by going for an easy joke and fucking it up royally. Anyway, Postmodernism in film criticism means that a movie can literally mean anything. This could be about dental hygiene and Max is a listerine strip or a comment on how filthy and violent South America can be. It can almost always NOT superficially be about what it's about. If it does, it loses depth to some and strips down and revs up a genre to others.
