Description My third painting of Jessica Simpson. No, I am not really a fan of hers that I keep painting her, she just seems to fit well to my style of painting. The soft air brush work just seems to fit her extremely well.

wow! well I understood what you meant with her appearance and ur style of painting....they go well together...so amazing....and sum1 mentioned the eyes...i think a little more contrast of colors in the iris would make it pop even more...amazing

Your right, now that you mentioned adding more contrast I can picture it as well. Thank you kindly, will see what I can do to it.

Her right eye looks to be made of paper, otherwise great!

Agreed. I hate doing eyes. They always come out so flat to me.

I do use a photo as a reference but that is all. I would not be able to post it if I knew all I did was throw some filters on a picture. That is such a cheap way out.

This is INCREDIBLY well done! The tones & shadows of her skin are just perfect. From the thumbnail I thought it was a photograph from a photoshoot or something! I could never be this good, especially when it comes to doing people. Love it! Keep up the amazing work!

Beautiful use of tones, colors and texture; She really does fit this style very well. You have a fantastic grasp of achieving photorealism!
Keep up the great work

Thank you very much. People ask why I usually do women. Yes, their easy on the eyes but my style also doesn't apply well to men at all. I think I have had only one success and that was my David Boreanaz piece. The rest I'm not happy with.

Perhaps a different approach to painting men would be to use different brushes. I'd reccomend either a paper texture, or a real-media styled brush, perhaps pastel. It may help to acheive that slightly rough texture, and better define the strong shapes and wrinkles. A bristle setting will help with the stubble and facial hair.

I will have to try that. I have toyed with some other brushes before but I wasn't getting the results I wanted. Will try the ones you have recommended though.

Sweet. I have to wonder also; your photography is stunning, do you still do it? Haven't seen a new upload of a photo in a long time. With your talent I'd hate to see you abandon it.

Actually as of late I have been busy doing design work on the side it has taken up alot of time, I haven't abandoned it just other things are paying more.
