Defining Features: Star is of medium build with a moderately long noise with a rounded tip. She has medium length fur, which is not super fuzzy nor poofy, has long legs and a fluffy tail that almost always has a bend at the tip, as most collies do.

Personality:

Kind- Star is a loving, sweet dog that has been raised on the notion that all life is equal and that everyone deserves to be happy. She has a caring heart and will do nearly anything to see another dog or human smile.

Eager to please- As her breeds state, Star is incredibly eager to please. She cannot stand it when someone does not like her and will do anything to turn their opinion around. She is not, however, a very clingy dog that fawns around others or begs for forgiveness ( unless the other dog is very high ranking and she has made a big mistake). She will do nearly whatever she is told and will complete any task if it means her superior will be pleased.

Persistent- Star does NOT give up easily. Often she'll work on an issue or task from dawn until dusk and has to be snapped at to quit if the problem is not saveable. She never gives up on another who is in need, and they can lean on her for as long as they need to. If she finds an injured lamb, she will not hesitate to do whatever she can to keep it alive, no matter if the entire situation is hopeless. This often is a two-sided issue of hers. On the one paw, if she plugs away until a problem is solved when no one else will, tragedy is avoided and the day is saved ( or whatever other ungodly time she stays awake until trying to fix the problem) On the other paw, she may end up exhausting herself doing a job that can never be finished, and if her work fails, she will go into a fit of rage for several minutes ( if a farm animal dies or runs away never to be found etc...) and will grow eerily silent, going into extreme fatigued depression for a few days. She may also, in her persistence to solve a problem, frustrate other dogs who are charged with that job and have given up. This goes especially for very small issues, such as stubborn cows and so on.

Motherly- Star LOVES to take care of others, and though young, is able to give very good advice. She adores lambs, chicks, calves, kittens, puppies, the whole caboodle. She has extreme patience with young things and always tries her hardest to make sure any orphaned creature has a good start on life.

Bubbly- Star is for the most part a happy-go lucky creature who adjusts well to new situations. She is good at making friends, and has a knack for bringing shy or depressed dogs out of their shells. Her energy is contagious, and she laughs often to keep the mood of the farm cheerful and bright! Nothing will get her down except for losing a battle or being disliked/scolded. If one does not like her consistently, however, she does know to stop bothering them and leaves them alone. She is not ALWAYS bubbly however, as previously stated.

Shy/Submissive- This is not a huge part of Star's personality as she is friendly with most strangers. But she does know that when a dog has an aggressive or powerful demeanor, they must be handled carefully. If she notices a dog approaching with a lowered head and raised hackles, a scowl, or an overall powerful and intimidating build, she will lower her head and tail, pull back her ears, and will roll over or run.

Pre-Group History:
Star's parents were a purebred pedigreed English Shepherd mother named Willow ( more formerly, Grandchampion Nothglennn's I'm the Wind In the Willows eh-hem) and a lesser-bred Border Collie named Drago. Her mother was an incredible herding dog, titled and well-rounded, she was a champion and a true master of her art, with a scaldingly focused gaze that could pierce the heart of the most stubborn of beasts. She was often ported all over the country, and even outside of it, to sheepherding competitions, winning ribbons and trophies and like all over. Drago, however, was a relaxed farm dog who, though he was a hard worker, took things a little too lightly for Willow's liking, but was a very kind and strong dog, who loved everyone and everything. He and she were bred by their owner couple, a farmer and competitive sheepherding wife who owned a sheep farm and a small petting zoo. They thought Willow's hot blood and Drago's cool blood would mix well and so came the puppies.

Five pups were born. Star, Salter, Samantha, Samuel, and Sander. Star had a very close relationship with her sister Salter and the two shared an incredibly close bond , working and playing, eating and sleeping together. Their father joked that they were joined at the hip. The pups were all set down in a pen every day since the age of four weeks next to the petting zoo to be socialized with the other animals and with the people that visited the farm. Because of this, Star developed incredible social skills and learned a steady yet gentle hand in dealing with others. When she and her siblings were six weeks old, having been weaned early at five weeks, their mother was ported across the ocean to a competition, leaving bewildered Drago to care for the pups for the next few weeks, and Star never saw her mother again and she developed a very strong bond with her father. One day, when the pups were eight weeks old, they noticed a sign in front of their pen reading "Puppies For Sale".

Star and Salter were horrified at the prospect of being separated from each other and their father. Drago knew there was nothing he could do, and though he tried to console his daughters, both remained in shock. Eventually a local farmer came for Salter, who struggled and kicked as she was picked up, reaching for her sister below, but to no avail and was carried off. Star, panicking, climbed the wire fence of the pen and leaped after the car in which her sister stood on her hind legs, pressing her paws and nose against the glass and crying to her sister. Star raced after the car, running and running, but her young legs buckled under her, and she gave up, allowing her sister to be taken away forever. Now it was her turn to be taken away from her family.

Drago had noticed his young daughter chasing the truck and ran after her, catching up to the pup when she collapsed and held her in a tight embrace, doing his best to comfort the pup. This only made everything harder, for she knew his warm steady presence would soon be gone, and she wouldn't be able to stop what was coming next. She was soon handed off to her new owner, howling and screaming and snarling in protest. When she was finally placed into the blanketed box in the back of the truck, she finally gave up and cried herself to sleep on the drive to her new home on a farm. She grew to despise giving up, giving her her characteristic never-let-go attitude. Her farmer decided one month when star was about one and a half that Canidale would be a great place to start anew when his farm went bankrupt due to a heavy drought and off-season in wool and crop. They made the immediate move and Star looked out on the city with bright eyes and a smile on her face, excited to meet new friends. She's been there ever since
