Wow, this thing is so cool! You've got them all pretty spot on. The only ones I'd quibble with are the last two, 'cause while admittedly Joff's a little sh!t he died to young to come into full nastiness while Ramsay is a serious psycho mofo. But otherwise super stuff!

Nice chart. I have some different takes on some of the characters (e.g., Samwell being closer to the top of the good list and being just this side of the Neutral, as opposed to Lawful, Good line; Catelyn being closer to the Lawful side of things and maybe farther up the Good scale; Arya being Chaotic Neutral; and Jaqen H'gar being, if not Lawful Neutral, than True Neutral). Nonetheless, I find this very interesting and amusing to look at.

While I get your reasoning with Stannis, I don't quite understand why he's closer to "evil" than the woman who "corrupted" him.

So, tell me if this is right. This isn't all of them, just the ones I know/care about.

Ned, Davos, Brienne, Samwell: Lawful Good, the second to last one drifting towards Neutral Good, Samwell closer to Neutral than the others.

Jon, Dany, Bran, Jorah: Neutral Good, Bran drifting toward Chaotic, Jorah drifting down to more neutral.

Syrio, Jamie, Catlyn: Outer edge of Neutral Good, nearing Neutral.

Robb, Arya, Osha, Loras, Rikon: Chaotic Good, the last two closer to Chaotic Neutral than the first two.

Kevan, Margaery, Varys, Stannis: Lawful Netural, the last one drifting towards Lawful Evil (Not something I agree with personally. I'd put him more firmly in Lawful Neutral, but then, we're judging by consequences of actions, not necessarily personal morality?)

Sansa, Asha, Tyrion, Theon (the little douche): Neutral, Sansa being closer to Lawful/Good, Tyrion firmly neutral, Theon closer to evil. (This I disagree with. Theon's actions are firmly selfish, and ultimately ended with the sacking of Winterfell, the murder of two young boys, and the two young Stark children being forced to scatter and flee. I'd put him closer to the evil scale, or at least Chaotic Neutral)

Melisandre, Sandor, Drogo, Renly, Robert: Chaotic Neutral (I can get everyone but Renly. Perhaps this is because I'm still thinking in terms of individual morality and not moral consequences of their actions?)

Tywin, Litterfinger: Lawful Evil

Cersei, Shae: Neutral Evil

Lysa, Viserys, Jaime: Chaotic Evi

Yep, you've pretty much got the knack of how this particular alignment chart works.

Re: Stannis and Melisandre. Stannis is a little closer to evil than I would like, but he is still relatively neutral. Another thing to consider when looking at the chart is comparing who falls directly around any given character. For instance, Stannis is less evil than Hizdahr but certainly not as good as Doran Martell, so that's where he falls. Likewise, Melisandre is not as good as the Hound but [stands above Victarion], though now that I look at it, I'm not quite so sure she is better than Victarion. When I revise, those two may end up switched.

Re: Renly. It takes a certain amount of chaos to seat yourself ahead of your brother in the line of succession, thereby further dividing the realm.

Re: Theon. Have you read A Dance with Dragons yet? I would further entrench him on the side of evil if it were not for the events of the fifth book, about which I will say nothing.

Re: Theon. I know about Theon, though I haven't read those parts yet. Right now, horrific as his fate is, to me it doesn't really change his actions or their consequences. Perhaps it's just because I haven't read it yet.

My computer is about to die, otherwise I'd write more.

not sure i'd agree with all of these, I consider Stannis good but grumpy, Arya more neutral these days and Varys more evil...maybe....so hard to place Varys haha, but I love that you took the time in this its awesome

Thanks! Some of my considerations involved taking into account not only who the person is but what their actions have caused. Stannis, for instance, while not an inherently evil man, has allowed himself to be misguided by Melisandre. As a result, several characters who did not deserve death (I'll only mention the castellan of Storm's End, but there are other obvious and notable characters as well) end up getting killed because he cares about his own "right" to the throne more than the rights of those he wants to rule. Likewise, for Arya, her morally ambiguous choices have led to intentionally positive outcomes. When she kills, it serves the greater good. As for Varys...let's just say I have a soft spot for him. He watches out for the little guys. I appreciate your analysis. Feel free to debate more of the positions, and I'll happily explain why they ended up where they did.

Yes! I finished the fifth book about a month ago. Great, great series. Top 5 have to be Tyrion, Jon, Arya, Dany, and Davos. You?
