!!!!!!!!!!!SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!The Silent Thaw was so good!! Here are my thoughts:
-I’m so sorry about Antfur....I never knew him but rip
-Ouch...Brambleimposter was so cruel
-I’m still trying to figure out what Lionblaze, Jayfeather, and Twigbranch did, because punishing Jay and Lion because of their parents is stupid. Maybe it's forbidden romance, but their romance wasn't that forbidden anyway so idek
-I have so much hope for this arc! The plot is moving really nicely with hardly any filler. I’m just a little worried about what the rest of this arc will be about...
-the protagonist trio are soooo gooood. They’re so plot relevant and not just a camera (which is what I was worried Bristle was going to become)
-My only problem is that the plot was just a little hard to follow looking back at the book, since the trio were doing so much in their own chapters (Bristle trying to be the best warrior she can be by doing stuff for Brambleimposter, Root dealing with Brambleghost and trying to convince everyone that there is an imposter, and Shadow dealing with the codebreaker fiasco) But goddd everything connected together so well
-YES YES I always wanted Shadowsight for his medcat name!

-yikes...Squirrelflight deserves a break
-Tree is such a good dad. I’m worried about his survival now that Rootpaw has the same ghostsummoning powers as him. And also, he was mentioned as one of the Codebreakers in lost stars but now he isn’t in the silent thaw????
-take a drink every time it says atone or atonement
-take a drink every time Brambleimposter is screaming at someone
-“next time I’ll chose who my parents are” bless Lionblaze

-the part where Shadow was looking into the moon pool and it was just a black void and then he saw a presence ....I scared myself way more than I should have thinking about that scene
-MINT???
-about the ending: at the mint scent, the first thing I would have assumed was a medicine cat, but I don’t think any medcat has any grudges on Shadow (maybe Jayf or Moth, but they wouldn’t go as far as murder). Also I saw someone bring up how mint is used to hide the scent of death....oh my god oh god oh f*ck I just had a realization

-that ending urrggg damn you erins back at it again with another cliffhanger
Anyways, this book was really good! So far, I would totally recommend reading this arc! And I hope the Erins make the rest of the arc just as good as this

I've also seen another one where Shadow dies and his body gets possessed, and Rootpaw is the only one who can talk to his real spirit while Shadow's ghost is unable to get into StarClan.

We don’t know, because the book literally ended with Shadowsight getting attacked and the attacker was clawing at his throat, and then all Shadow saw was black O_O
He could be dead or could not be, but we’ll have to wait 6 months to get our answer rip

Ok! I'll explain the last chapter. I hope it doesn't spoil too much, if you were thinking of reading it spoiler-free

Last chapter, Shadowsight, Rootpaw, Puddleshine, and Tree (If I remember correctly) were going to the moonpool to explain to the other medicine cats that Bramblestar was being possessed. On the way there, they were confused because they scented blood and a very strong mint scent, then some unknown cat started screaming in the distance and they ran off to check it out. Shadow was left alone because he went to get cobwebs for the screaming cat, when he was attacked by an unknown cat who was clawing at his throat, trying to kill him...and then all Shadow saw was black and the book ended.
So basically people think that the mint scent came from the attacker trying to disguise the scent of death, because they were attacking with the intent to kill, OR it's possessed Bramblestar who put on mint scent because his body was decaying

That's ok! What do you think about this arc so far? I have a feeling the imposter is Ashfur working with someone else, but I guess we'll probably find out in Veil of Shadows or Darkness Within
