Thank you. This looks so cute and darling. I love it.
Since you forgot, that's Motown singer, Smokey Robinson from the vintage 80's Sesame Street song "U Really Got a Hold on Me."

I love it. Smokey guest starred on Sesame Street back in 1984 to perform a parody of his own song he sang in the 60's with his group, the Miracles called "You Really Got a Hold on Me." It's one of the best iconic romance songs.

This parody song from Sesame Street revolves around Smokey tangling with a pretty, red, female letter U that REALLY has a hold on him.

It's one of the show's classics, and has been released on DVD twice. "U Really Got a Hold on Me" is on disc 1 of "Sesame Street. 40 Years of Sunny Days" from 2009, and the 2014 Sesame Street DVD called simply "Alphabet Songs."

Nice. This also wasn't Smokey Robinson's only appearance on Sesame Street.
He also sang an original song to Telly Monster about how growing up takes patience and time called "It Takes Time."

Getting back to "U Really Got a Hold on Me," the song sketch is staged greatly with the female U against a black background. It helps with the puppetry, and it's really impressive and effective.
"U Really Got a Hold on Me" came on television in the mid 80's, and this was all done using a black background, and the puppeteer dressed entirely in black so you could never him or her puppeteering the female letter U. No computers were used at all.
