Description Exaggerated painting with an unoriginal title , but only because I plan to do a matching picture named "Delight" ^_^. I worked on this over a course of possibly half a year O_O, drawing a little bit at a time whenever I'm sad or depressed.. but in the end I wanted to finish it even though I don't feel this way right now

This is my first complete work using openCanvas. I'm still getting used to the functions, but this program seems awesome, if it didn't have so many bugs it would be perfect (I lost my work so many times with oC3Plus -__-)..

I want to get better and better at drawing, so constructive criticism is highly encouraged! ^_^

Isn't the opposite of despair 'hope'? Despair is when you feel as if there is nothing for you and no chance of getting anything, that seems pretty oppositional to hope for me.

Wow, the picture looks amazing! just about the only thing I could see that could use improoving is he feet...they look too defined to be underwater....I donno....blur them a little or something......that incredibly small detail aside, (as said before) awesome!

The mist on the horizon really sells the damp atmosphere, and the attention to displacement within the ripples is admirable.

A piece that conveys it's message as a whole and with each individual component. Fantastic work!

Oooh... I like it very much. The rain drops, the way the water flows over the body, and the ripple effects were all very VERY well done. Good job ^^

Yay! Frostocelot artwork! This is really stunning, especially the background. And you included almost every raindrop's ripple as it hits the bottom. Very beautiful.

!!.. huuu....
awesome!!...
the colors, the BG, her expression.. all water effects... pretty awesom...
i luv the dark green clouds...
well i like depressive pics.... they're very curious.... xDD

i only think... that if the hav a little less round marks from the rain or if they were more translucid(just put less opacity(i dont know if u can do this in opencanvas xD))
it would let the water even better... anyway.. just a little detail.. ^^....
i really like ur paint a lot!... ^^

I usually don't like this kind of depressive pictures (because I don't like feeling depressed, eh) but putting the subject aside, this is really well done ^^. Expresses the subject perfectly. I like the green clouds ^^

Incredible work!!

And by the way, did you really like Open Canvas? I'm thinking in trying it out...

Frostocelot In reply to EoSergio [2006-08-05 05:38:21 +0000 UTC]

It's easier to use than photoshop and it creates pretty natural looking painting. I recommend it if you are going for soft coloring with realistic looking paint ^_^

Easier than photoshop??

hum..
that's intresting...

Frostocelot In reply to EoSergio [2006-08-05 05:57:22 +0000 UTC]

yep, oC is simpler and its functions are aimed toward artists, whereas photoshop is cluttered with a lot of extra functions for graphic design and other media purposes
