I've been working on my independent study which I chose to be anime style (TWEWY Style) and the first two images look nothing like I wanted them to, your tutorial will help a lot!

While your tutorial is outstanding and got me a great grasp of how to make TWEWY style art (which I'd love to do), I'd just like to point out that your render isn't at its best simply because it's not exactly TWEWY style (this is me nitpicking; it's a good image yes but I'm an accuracy whore, so disregard what I say if you don't give a crap about 100% accuracy XP). I say this because your lines have a ton of bumps on them, which is not only slightly an eyesore in some cases, but contradicts a point you made about clean anglular lines. I realize this was done in photoshop and with possibly a tablet + pen, so some hand-drawn artifacts are bound to be there, but personally what I would do for a little bit of extra cleanup is to try tracing the boarders of my lines with the pen tool and erase (ololol) the bumps and unnecessary curves. Believe me, the outcome will look miles better if you're really serious about your picture!
Of course I come from the world of Illustrator and Flash where art = math, so why listen to me?
This is not meant to say "trolololol picture sucks," it's good, I'm just critisizing it and possibly giving you a protip XP. As for the tutorial, which is the POINT of this image... Very good analyses. Saves me trouble from trying to micromanage the artwork myself

Thank you very much! I definitely appreciate the critique; good critique is few and far between.
Back when I made this I only had Photoshop Elements, lacking a pen tool. But now that I have the full version I'll give it a try next time!

'tis a shame that's true Critique helps an artist improve, yet so many people fail to point out flaws/areas to improve that many a time progress starts to decline or just slow.
Might I suggest, actually, trying to use Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Flash? Those programs are made for vector drawing, and while you could draw with the pen tool in Photoshop, those programs are more geared towards that kind of clean-lined style.

I think this is very helpful. I especially like the part where there's the different colored text matching up to the colors of circled parts in the picture, if that sentence is at all understandable.
I have no idea wtkfc The World Ends With You is (and I'm much to lazy to google it), but I'm tempted to try this drawing style just for the hell of it.
