Commission for koobikitsuneWell, apparently, the new paper I got for doing these ref sheet commissions doesn't fit completely into my scanner Dx So I'm going to have to shop for a bigger scanner...hopefully they aren't super expensive
Anyway, that's why the Equestria Girl's hand and the Gala Dress's horn and tip of her shoes are cut off

The paper I use is slightly too big for my scanner too. I try to keep my pictures smaller than the paper they're, on but sometimes I just can't help it lol.
Despite the cut-offs, this came out smashin'. I was hoping toΒ order a commision next time they're open, if that'd be k of course. I was leaning towards a simple paint splatter Griffon, but after seeing this, I'm just dying to see what Geoff would look like. Rainbow power Geoff would be lol-tastic! xD

Crystal ponies are not exclusively earthponies, there are crystal unicorns and pegasi as well

Yeah, but since the crystal ponies WERE just regular ponies at first, and just turned into crystal due to (magical) radiation from the Crystal Heart,
It's very likely that there ARE Unicorns as well, since every other city seems to be mixed with all three types. Empire shouldn't be any different,
quite the opposite... due to it's strong magical proportions, I would expect a higher-than-average rate of uicorns to live there,
it's just that not very many (or any at all?) was seen on the show during the visits to Empire.

I know that until we actually saw some crystal pegasi, people thought Crystal Ponies were exclusively a subset of Earth Ponies... Some people still do, actually.

Yeah, I just said MY theory.
I believe this because, when the Heart was restored, EVERYPONY there was crystalized, even mane 6.
In the citizens case, they REMAINED that way due to longer exposure (their whole lifes),
And I believe that if Cadence and Shining stays long enough, they too WILL eventually "evolve" / "transform" into crystal ponies,
it just hasn't been long enough yet, but during the restoration, a much stronger burst of the crystals magic shot out, and thus
the temporary transformations of everyone, and permanent restoration of those who had already turned earlier.

What's also interesting is that the manes and tails of the mane six and Cadance changed when they were crystallized, but Shining Armor's didn't. I wonder why that could be...

maybe stallions are affected differently?
maybe it was a vague hint toward some other change or event they had planned, but has not been shown yet? It's been done before..
Tirek was shown in one of the earliest episodes of season 4, for example. remember in CastleMania? the yellow eyes at the end, sneaking around in the castle.
Or, it might just have been an "animation error", they forgot to alter his mane.
Or any number of other reasons... ^^
Might have been due to their magical power-levels? mane 6 are the Elements, and thus strongly magic.. Cadence is a Alicorn.
Shining is a normal unicorn.
Stronger magic = more visual changes?

I'm not quite sure that the "Pony of Shadows" WAS Tirek. If it was, then how could he have possibly not known about Twilight's existence as a fourth alicorn?
And if it wasn't, then that means that the writers were completely serious about it just being a throwaway thing at the end of the episode. Like many things in the season, oddly enough. Which is a little disappointing, to be perfectly honest.
...Or they could be saving that stuff for season 5.

IF it was Tirek - we can't be sure he actually SAW twilight clearly enough to notice she had both wings and a horn.
He DID lurk around in the shadows, and by THAT point in time, he would have been VERY weak, his eyes might have been affected too.

Yeah, both the throwaway theory AND the "season 5 Hint" theory ARE possible...
We'll just have to wait and see.
