I decided to re-do the Sheik picwhy you may be saying...... dont ask. something about cosplaying that was over a year or so ago and I dont care about it anymore. so lets just say I redid it to see how I've improved.

Yeah... I understand that Shiek is anatomically a guy, but I can't ignore who he/she was; Zelda, a female. So... I guess I've never thought of Zelda being a transvestite so I always call Shiek a girl. The tight clothing leaves not only room for reasonable doubt as to whether Shiek is a female, but some questions as to where some physical features of each gender went/came from. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't think Zelda looks androgynous, and I've been confused about everything since. But I guess that's what the creators were looking for, really: some controversy.
The, "men in tights" skit you are talking about sounds like its worth a look.

Wow. Shiek. Tell me, what gender do you see shiek being when you play ocarina of time? Male, female, unich, transvestite? My brother and I argue constantly about this. so... ?

Personally.... I say that the CHARACTER is male.
I mean I know it's really Zelda in disguise. but she's trying to hide her identity so that Ganondorf doesn't kidnap her and so she figures the best way is to go from a female princess to a male ninja.
Anyway what I'm saying is when I refer to Sheik I say "he"
and I seem to have a situation similar to yours, cause although my sister and I dont argue about it, my sister has not hide the fact that she thinks Sheik is a girl. always referring to Sheik as "she" and he kept commenting during a skit during the cosplay convention, it was a bunch of cosplayers on stage, with the "Men in Tights" song playing, and sure enough they were all cosplaying as anime or video game characters that were men and wore tights. you can probably find it on youtube. off the top of my head, I can remember a couple of the characters: Link, Sheik, the Prince (from Katamari Damaci), some guy from Bleach, Kohaku (Sango's younger brother from Inu-Yasha), Teenage Gohan, and many many others.
the point is that during that funny skit, she kept saying "but Sheik is a girl"
oh well. *shrugs*
