Hope you like this one..I saw the poster for Captain America: The First Avenger (due out Summer 2011).
This is all set up to be another Marvel Master-class in the art of transforming comic book hero's into an all action, heart throb that will grace our cinema screens later this year..
This is my attempt in showing old and new, comic book to movie, traditional to digital...
I don't know, just thought it'd look cool...
FYI - Actors Name is Chris Evans.
And I know,the digital part isn't perfect - I'm more of a traditional artist..
This has been drawn on A3.
Time: 25'ish hours in just over a week.
Materials: ranging from 4H to 8B Pencils, Photoshop for the digital part, my trusty kneaded rubber.
(And for something I like doing, what tea's and coffee's I tried throughout this drawing:
Coffee (Kenya Peaberry from Whittards of Chelsea),
Tea (spiced Apple and Cinnamon, Vanilla Chai Latte & Kuching Herbal Java Tea)

Impressive texturing on the shield. If this were done in all graphite it would be a solid work of fanart. The star elevates it to something better, more ambitious. Now I don't think the the end result works-- the simplicity of the colored portion mixed with the fact that it's obviously digital make the two styles bad bedfellows. Put as much time into the digital portion as you did into the rest and it may prove a success. As it is I like the concept and respect your willingness to experiment.

One thing I didn't get about the poster though was the word "AVENGE".
I understand that he is "The First Avenger" and that technically he's avenging Pearl Harbour, but he never really seemed like he was avenging anything. I'm a long time comic book fan, so this kinda bugs me.
