I'm torn on this line as well. I love the concept once again, Applin is a pretty good design, it's a good representation, it uses the concept REALLY well, I love split evolutions as well. I'm mostly torn on the evolutions. Both are sort of ugly and weird, a bit "are you kidding me?" Flapple is better in my opinion, but they're still both, meh. Idk, I think once I draw Flapple I will like it more, and Appletun will always be weird to me.Related content

Nearly everyone else who's discussed the Applin line seems to stronglyΒ prefer Appletun. AnyΒ reason you prefer Flapple? I don't have a strong preferenceΒ for either one.Β

I think I just like the idea of flapple more, I think it's interesting to have him FLY with apple chunks lol, it also just feels like a very natural obvious development, the worm is in the apple, eventually eats the entire apple inside, and grows into a dragon/worm, then busts open the apple! It seems very natural, whereas Appletun is like, it suddenly turns INTO an apple...pie...thing? And it's like this big fat dragon, it has no worm features at all. Also idk I like that you can see flapple's eyes, I like pokemon with visible open eyes more, Appletun's are weird and disturbing slug eye things, gross. Also, kids eat strips of Appletun skin. ew.
Just feels more right.

Really, wasn't expecting pincurchin. I like it a lot, like A LOT, but I think there's something blocking me from acknowledging it, that sounds stupid lol Idk, I think I need to use one or see it in anime or draw it more to really get a feel for it. I do really like him though. I've wanted an urchin for the past 10 years at least.

Yah itβs funny how certain regions you can associate with a particular type based on strong representation. Like, I would associate Kanto with poison, or Kalos with Fairy, etc

I don't think I've ever thought about it, Galar is defintiely dragon, Kalos is fairy, but I don't think I really associate any other types with regions...hmm I'd have to think about that
