Description i am just not a fan of this pokemon. seems like something i'd love but the eyes REALLY bother me, they're so boring and ugly, and then also the design sort of just looks like they made it, then said "yeah add some leaves here...and here...and here....and here...and throw a flower on top too...and a crown." lol it looks so heavy and uncomfortable.

I love Lilligant. I think it's a fantastically designed Pokemon, and looks much better than other Grass Type Pokemon. And about the eyes, I typically draw them a little larger so they don't look as strange.

And just an fyi, if you don't like a Pokemon, you don't have to draw it. I suggested it just because I like your cute style and wanted to see an improved version of it, but you didn't have to do it if you don't like the Pokemon. The reason I bring this up is because you saying all that you don't like about the design makes me feel like I obligated you to draw it, and it makes me feel bad for asking.Β

that's true, maybe doing larger eyes would help...ill have to try that!

no i'm not really mad or anything, i said in the journal i wanted a challenge and i wanted to stretch my abilities more, i knew i wasn't obligated, i chose to draw it, i chose to fulfill your request, i like drawing and i like drawing challenging things. i may not like it but i know someone is bound to

That's why it has low stats and a poor moveset. It is a boring leaves-fluttering Pokèmon (I hope for a mega at least XD)

Wow, how rude.

While it is indeed an average stats PokΓ©mon, what makes it a threat is its Quiver Dance and Petal dance. I don't know why the hell you're talking about with "poor moveset".

And to each our own, its looks beautiful to me.

I like so much the design and I know those moves but it can not defend itself from Ice/Fire/Flying types...

I thought that was generally the point though.

The point and specialty is it learning both Quiver Dance and Petal dance(with its own tempo ability), as its not a generic stat distribution sufferer, and with those moves it can prove to be a staller threat to take down foes.

That does seem to be the point of Lilligant imo.

You're right and it's a plausible point of view, I have to respect that (though I still believe some Rock moves could help more).

As an avid Lilligant fan myself, I can understand what he means when he says "poor moveset" because at the moment, Lilligant can only deal three types of Damage: Grass, Normal, and Psychic, and it can only deal Psychic Type damage through the move Dream Eater. Yes, it can be a big threat with a few Quiver Dances and Petal Dance, but again, it can only deal those three types of damage. It needs access to more types in order for it to be able to cover its weaknesses.

That's true, but I say it was suppose to be a general average stat pokemon that suffers, BUT-

While this is somewhat true, Quiver dance and Petal Dance are more dangerous than you think. Lilligant seems to be rather a stall tank if you can get some up and than stall as pokemon never seem to hit you as you go into another sub's, over and over. Ha, and than confuse hacks all the way.

I'm not saying that Lilligant is a bad Pokemon; and I'm not saying that Quiver Dance + Petal Dance isn't a bad combination. The only problem is that that combination is Lilligant's gimmick. It makes it unique, yes, but that's all it has to rely on. It needs more moves so that it can still defend itself without that combination.

Personally, I want Lilligant to get a Mega Evolution so it can become even more powerful, and hopefully gain a second Type in the process so that it can have new moves.

Mega Lilligant..,

They better look fabulous as hell. Generally, I think theft should go into the Fire type, in terms of fashion designs and looking attractive.

Literally, Fairy just seems wrong honestly. Is there any relation between it?

Lilligant is based off of Aromatherapy, as well as dancers, and it's design takes elements from high class women's fashion from the 1700's. This same concept is almost repeated in Aromatisse, with the emphasis more on perfume rather than Aromatherapy. That said, though, Aromatisse is a Fairy Type Pokemon, and so Fairy on Lilligant does make sense. Hell, it should at least learn Aromatic Mist simply to reflect that theme (even though Aromatic Mist is a Status Move and doesn't actually do damage). That being said, though, the Aromatherapy theme can be seen on Lilligant as a Grass/Fire Type, as it's design could resemble scented candles, which are used in Aromatherapy, as well an incenses.Β

So overall, I think the most logical typings for a Mega Lilligant are Grass/Fairy, Grass/Fire, potentially Grass/Poison, or just staying Grass.Β

Ah, thanks for the information. (Gamefreak always seems make such amazing ideas.)

I just thought Liligant was a simple, classy women with the old fashions styles, only made into a leafy beautiful plant pokemon.
(Oh yeah.. Aromatisse's abilities..Isn't Aromatic mist so op? Taunt and encore being out? Oh, yeah.)
I'm waiting for one too, I think Grass/Fire is an interesting typing indeed.

Well than..., Yay! Grass/Fairy we are likely to be having!

Aromatic Mist isn't really that OP. All it does is raise the Special Defense of an ally. It just makes sense on Lilligant's movepool given it's aromatic theme. But anyway, hopefully, we'll be seeing a Mega Lilligant in Sun/Moon.

niksmom1 In reply to Frozen-Echo [2016-05-28 19:01:59 +0000 UTC]

Oh wait.. I thought it also prevented Taunt and Encore from working..

Eh, that's reasonable though, Lilligant simply needs more moves.
I'm right now using a Petill in "PokΓ©mon Zeta", and been very helpful. With all those stalling techniches, she's a tough thing to take down.

It'll be nice to see Mega Lilligant. Maybe faster, more special def and so attack, along with a bit more def.

Frozen-Echo In reply to niksmom1 [2016-05-28 19:49:45 +0000 UTC]

Nope, just raises the Special Defense.

Ah, I've not played that. Lilligant is a great Pokemon to go with in-game, but in competitive use, it's not that great.Β

Agreed!
