Ok. Everyone is going to throw rotten fruit at me or something, burn me at the stake lol but I'm not a HUGE fan of Snom. (please don't kill me >.<)It's not that I don't like it, it's just not that great. I honestly don't understand why everyone loves it SO much. I mean, yeah it's a great concept, absolutely love the idea of of a jewel caterpillar, and I love moths, I love insects, I love ice type, yeah, it's a great idea/design, but it's also not that special, it's a jewel caterpillar made of ice with cute eyes. It's actually fairly boring. It's like if everyone got obsessed with Weedle. Like, out of all whatever 900 pokemon, Snom is the one everyone is freaking out over and loving? ok...
I will also say, it's difficult to get it in a fun unique pose haha I tried my best, but really, what can you do with a stiff caterpillar with one color and no mouth...

Maybe they love it so much because itβs simple...I am much more disappointed with Frosmoth. Great name, but a bit weird design and too slow...I mean, add some colors on its body...

I think the simplicity is why I like it so much, combined with the fact that I'm fascinated with caterpillars and really like the Ice type. When I first saw the Gen. 8 list, Snom was one of the few that gave me PokΓ©mon vibes while most of the others gave me Nickelodeon or Rareware vibes. (I reckon Snom could've fit right in with Gen. II, given that a lot of those designs were fairly simplistic.)
That said, never did I imagine that Snom would garner so much attention. It's a good thing I'm not one of those people who dislike something just because it's popular.

Unfortunately I AM one of those guys haha I still like things even if they're popular, but there's a part of me that loses interest because it's popular.
It is a good design, I like it, I just don't understand ALL the hype

While I consider Snom a top teir design I agree that the love for it is somewhat disproportionate.Β It's even overshadowed its evolution Frosmoth.Β
I guess it's similar to what happened with Wooloo. Sword and Shield have been so divisive that anything good or bad about them will be magnified to extremes.Β

How can you love Pyukumuku and not love little Snom ^_^

I don't know...I guess 1 the concept of pyukumuku is really done well, it's simple but the hand organ makes it such a hoot and a half. But then this one is like, what he has an ice shell? Ok. And 2 I find the colors of pyukumuku much more fun and interesting with the hot pink contrast. And 3, idk pyukumuku is just fun haha
Honestly I think it's the hand. Instantly gives him so much personality, but this is just a blob. And I don't dislike it, I just don't understand why people are sacrificing their first born to their new god, Snom.

I can see why everyone loves Snom, but I find it to be an average Pokemon. It reminds me very much of Rowlett, where it was universally loved and ascended thanks to wholesome memes revolving around it. If anything, I do wish that Snom (or rather, Frosmoth) had better competitive viability/capabilities like Larvesta/Volcarona (whose evolutionary line I feel is its thematic counterpart).

I did not even realize this was an actual pokemon but...yeah, it's kind of average like some of the other ones. I guess the big idea is that you have a bug type that is also ice type since ice usually can wipe out bug pokemon. But even then...
But you did well with it and...well I am not sure. I do not have a Switch and if I were to get one...well, I am not sure.

Simplicity. Dots for eyes, cute little stubs for mandibles, only a few rows of rounded off spikes. It is a helpless baby bug PokΓ©mon, which are designed to be cutesy. Works for me.

People got obsessed with Snom not out of the ~900 total pokemon, but from one of the few new SwSh designs (which happens to be one of the cutest ever).
At first I though it would be just "another one". I mean, people tend to ignore bugs as a whole, so it really surprised me that Snom made such an impact. Well, to be fair, each time that something becomes randomly famous, it acquires the snowball effect, so in the end it isn't that unexpected.
