Description Hey everyone, here's another sprite conversion this time I used Zero. I made the sword after I saw how Guts from Berserk wielded Dragonslayer

Edit :I followed  's critques and fixed up the hand, leg, neck and sword

I don't know why, but I think the shading on the legs have too much clusters everywhere that can somewhat mess up on what light source is hitting and what's not so your best bet is to revise it and clean up your shading as I don't know if he has normal detailed definition on the legs or not. Leg in the left(our right) lacks depth. Hand in the left(our right) needs work as I don't see his thumb and it looks like a claw or a pirahna so look at your reference(Zero sprite) again and try to work on it more without making it big like the reference you're using. Give him a neck as it seems to be missing on the dude's body for the head. Clean up his crotch side as making the lines reach too much to the top could mess up your details on how you wanted him to move if you ever animate him someday. Sword angle looks out of perspective and out of place, make the direction of the sword the same as the dude in that direction so that it doesn't look like he's gonna drop it, just a heads up.

The sprite still looks on-point tho.

Thanks for the critques Entei! I was so focused on the sword that I completely forgot to give him a neck. I fixed up the hand on the left (our right) to give an appearance of a thumb, I flipped the sword. For the leg, I tried to fix so that it won't lack depth I was going for  megaman zero sort of legs.

If you want, may I edit the sprite of that guy and the sword(the one not on the guy's back) in it's original size via notes to show you what I was talking about? Because I think you should consider the next time I say something meaningful on what I was pointing out about the shading that looks cluster-y, I mean clean it up as in try to use your light source on where do you put the colors for the dark tones as well as knowing w and how can you clean it. Try to look at good sprites by Afro at the Vortex forums sometime or just study other good sprites and you'll know what I mean. Adding the direction for the sword is up to you but I don't mean to make it turn around to the other sprite like that, I just meant like resprite the sword's angle to give it good perspective on what direction it's facing like the dude and it'll look better. I'm not very great with words lol

Sure, I'll send you a sprite of the guy and his sword on note. I'm also not that great with words either lol, but I will admit that the shading on the legs does look clustered mostly to avoid banding. I also see what you mean with the sword needing to be at different angle. I'll take your advice and check out some good sprites to get an idea on where to shade.
