Derp, Derp, obligatory muffins joke.... Derp.You have no idea how close I was to shelving this little nightmare of a project. I must have broken her wings in nearly a dozen places during sculpting/painting, they are so very fragile.
Made from 50/50 SuperSculpey and SuperSculpey firm over a wire armature.
Painted with acrylics
Stands about 6 inches tall

Looking at the picture, I was wondering how she held together. Her precarious shape gives the sculpture an impressively floaty feeling.

There is a metal wire skeleton running from the base, up the tail and into the body. The wire is nice and stiff so it keeps her supported rather well.

I'm guessing because of their frailty that you don't sell them? Have you tried firing them?

The clay is baked and before painting. Baking makes it hard but also brittle when it has a thin cross-section.

I'd say your trials paid off in spades, this is gorgeous and full of personality.
Regarding the wing trouble, you might try buying a tiny pack of sculpey premo for just such occasions, it's quite flexible. (It does require a light sanding before readily accepting acrylic paint though).
