I have a lot of respect for the efforts of the Republic of China in preserving its culture and independence in the face of the tremendous PRC. I wish you lot a strong and safe future.

This is actually awesome!
The outfit is really nice, the colouring is pretty damn perfect for your style and I love the highlights in the hair especially!

Haha, I fail as a Chinese person OTL

I speak Cantonese Chinese, being brought up by that language because my parents are from Hong Kong and Macau XD Although, they're trying to get me to learn Mandarin Chinese and the simplified characters! I used to be able to read the traditional, but then I stopped and I'm not used to it anymore Because I stopped using it as much because I live in England! I'm taking it up again though! ^.^

Happy Double Ten Day to you too!!

Thank you very much!
I think interest in a language is the most important when you don't use it as much, so don't worry that you aren't used to reading Chinese characters now! Though, it is always great to learn a language in order to connect to one's family backgrounds

Happy Double Ten Day!

Pretty! So, you live in Taiwan? But your location says Canada...

Thanks!
I live in Canada now, but I'm originally from Taiwan

You're welcome!
Ah, when did you move to Canada?

FrozenSeashell In reply to RayquazaMaster [2011-10-10 18:29:24 +0000 UTC]

I moved in 2006, so I still have more years living in Taiwan than in Canada XD

Oh, cool!
I actually speak Mandarin Chinese, though I only know the simplified characters.

FrozenSeashell In reply to RayquazaMaster [2011-10-10 18:51:23 +0000 UTC]

Ah, I see! I write in traditional characters but can read both, and having the ability to speak Mandarin helps a lot in everyday life

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RayquazaMaster In reply to FrozenSeashell [2011-10-10 19:01:10 +0000 UTC]

Yeah! I'm kind of better with spoken Mandarin than written, though, but my character recognition is improving, largely because I'm also taking Japanese at school!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FrozenSeashell In reply to RayquazaMaster [2011-10-10 19:34:26 +0000 UTC]

I sometimes find myself reading more Japanese than Chinese as well XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RayquazaMaster In reply to FrozenSeashell [2011-10-10 19:45:03 +0000 UTC]

Oh, you also speak Japanese?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FrozenSeashell In reply to RayquazaMaster [2011-10-10 19:58:53 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I find Japanese easier to read and speak than English because of the common grounds that Chinese and Japanese languages have. It's great that you are also learning Japanese! We as Mandarin speakers are already ahead in the learning of Japanese

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RayquazaMaster In reply to FrozenSeashell [2011-10-10 20:05:10 +0000 UTC]

Haha, yeah, and in English, there are virtually no phonetic rules. Japanese just makes more sense than English to me, even though English is my native language. :'D
Yes, we are ahead! My Japanese teacher is extremely impressed with my kanji knowledge, and I know a lot of kanji because of my Mandarin!
