Description

Summer had come early and hot to Sweden and June was running by at a rapid pace. Triss had a very tight schedule with new competitions almost every weekend and with that he had to live with Alyssas nerves as she was trying to top Nevriyes form for the second leg of the HCL. Dunai had though been in a better mood after he got his new leasing horse, Excalibur, to train, all while Maggan was still under her treatment. But even though the schedule was tight and competitions important, Triss let his hores go in the grass pastures as long as possible dring those days – and sometimes even over the nights. So each day he came to the stable he looked with a sore heart on Kaskelot that lonley walked around his small sand paddock. He got more and more annoyed and felt for the stallion that tried his very best to stretch through the electric fence to nibble on the grass outside without getting a shock.
“Aly, please” He confronted her one fine day when the stallion stood and looked longingly towards the other horses away in the grass pastures “How can you let him go alone in that shitty dirt paddock!?” Aly just gave him an angry stare as she was polishing a bridle.
“Ah, stop it! You know he shouldn't eat grass, he gets sick.” Her attention got back to the bridle. Triss just rolled his eyes.
“The horse needs company though” He muttered and looked back towards the stallion.
“He's a stallion” She just scoffed. Triss rolled his eyes but kept quiet. His own stallion Sazha worked just fine with his two geldings. Quietly a plan started to form in his mind.

It was a warm and sunny day in July when Triss drove in on the stable yard with the trailer. Whistling he got out of the car and looked towards Kaskelot that curiously raised his head. He smiled as he lowered the ramp of the trailer and got in. After som bustling around in the trailer he soon came back out with two shetland ponies. The ponies looked around and trotted after him as he walked towards the black stallions pasture. Kaskelot trotted up to the fence, blowing himself up and looking at the ponies with both terror and excitement. Triss laughed as he opened just the lower parts of the gate and let the two ponies in. They immediatley trotted up to Kaskelot that had stopped in terror, snorting and waving one leg in the air. One of the shetlands laid his ears back and rushed towards the stallion that was almost three times bigger. That made Kaskelot turn quickly and gallop away from the little silver bay. Triss laughed heartidly as he watched the two shetlands walk around, examinationg their new home with Kaskelot staring at them with nostrils flared. Soon the ponies walked up to the box with hay and starting to munch on it. It passed several minutes until Kaskelot finnaly dared to go up to the box. He snorted at the small ponies that only gave him an angry look. A quick nibble sent the stallion galloping away again. Triss smiled and returned to the trailer to back it up.

Later during the day he was sitting outside the stables, reading a magazine when Alys car drived up on the yard. He smiled for himself but didn't lift his gaze. Aly barley got out of the car before the shouting started.
“WHAT ARE THOSE LITTLE DEVILS!? TRISS! ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND!?” She came towards him in quick steps, red in her face out of fury. Triss looked up absently.
“What are you shouting about?” He said, confused. That made Aly even more angry and she pointed towards the pasture.
“Those. Why are there ponies with Kaskelot!? He could be hurt!” She almost spit at him, standing over him and clenching her teeth. Triss looked towards the pasture where Kaskelot was munching on his hay together with his two new friends and shrugged.
“Ah, Trassel and Trubbel. They seem to get along.” He looked down into his magazine again. Ignoring Alys heavy breathing.
“Take them away. NOW” She hissed at him.
“He's a horse Aly. He need company. I won't take them away.” He pretendet to keep reading the magazine.
“He is MY horse. I decide what he needs!” Triss could hear that she wasn't as convinced with herself anymore.when Triss didn't answer she soon just sighed, muttered something in arabic and disappeared into the stable. Tris smiled to himself and looked up to Kaskelot and the small shetlands.
“You owe me one you black devil” He said under his breath.

Shetties!!! I love them! They're so sweet and Kaskelot really deserves to have some friends ;; no horse should be isolated like that, stallion or no.

You've done a really amazing job of shading a black horse, so often they're far too flat but your lines and tone really make it pop!
