And so with overwhelming power, the new form of Tails managed to overthrow Miles. Miles was devoured, but there was no enjoyment of it. No satisfying sighs, no large belches, just sadness, and emptiness. Tails went off on his own, feeling guilty for letting his friend die. Would things ever get better, there's no way to really know. The smiling and waving image of Jay in the night sky slowly fades away.

I go with the first one. It has a happy undertone that the others don't have. It covers the sadness as well as the smile in the sky.

Well the original placements are really what sell it for me. TOS was in a sad moment that tries to give hope, while the other theme was a sad theme that tried to give a little happiness as staple character died.

Yeah. TOS was from a vision to inspire hope that was said from a fallen enemy the main character took pity on, and the other theme was used as a farewell for a staple character who chose to die in order to stop something else.

I aimed for tear jerking. The self pity, the smiling person fading away, the tearful farewell, I know it worked on me. Seems like the last few Deviations were for showcasing scenes and music.
