I like how this picture shows Bumbys attempt at ruining Alices mentality and Wonderland. He transfers a part of his sick mind (his Otherland and persona a.k.a puppet-master) into Alices world.
Invading it and using it as a tool to erase her memories and imagination.
Makes it rather fitting how Alice learns this tactic and uses that ability against Bumby with her wonderland. Helping her defeat him at the station. Β
(Yes I like to think he saw her in that blue dress. The way he moves his head around in awe before that push. That tells me he saw more than just the confidence in her eyes.)
Considering Alice Otherlands was going to explore more of this idea of jumping into peoples minds, I can see why Mcgee is right by saying Alice becomes sort of a superhero.Β Β

Bloody bastard, but I do like this concept quite a lot. Β Those memories with dialogue you collect during the game not only relate to the world at hand but also to the story as we get ever deeper into a wormhole of darkness and depravity. Β I've heard it said that dreams take inspiration from the waking world, which is especially prominent in Barrel Bottom when she hears things about expeditions to the arctic and taxidermic specimens, which we see all over before beginning our descent to the ocean floor.
