I love the victorian Alice, she's so sullen. XD
And yes, Bumby is a fucking asshole but I also think that he's an interesting character. He's strange, calm and he strongly believes that he's doing the right thing. He "provide a service".

Is that where that's from?  I thought it was Mr. Dodgson's poetry again, or Mr. Carroll's rather.  Carroll is a pseudonym anyway.  Back to that first session⦠it must have been so interesting.  A girl fresh from the insane asylum, and with no prospects or polite society skills to speak of, meeting her hypnotist/therapist who turned out, by (bad) luck of the draw to be her family's killer and her near killer.

Bumby is the classical serial rapist and sexual predator; he functions without remorse, care, or compassion to his victims. His actions against Lizzie were that of a sexual predator; he was obsessed with her, he didn't love her. Her "rejection" was a blow to his ego and his ego was so inflated, he broke in, raped her, and felt the need to burn the house down because he thought he was that important.
Then, for who knows how many years (and the canon specifically drops a bunch of hints that he continued to function that way) acting as a sexual predator. Sexual predators take positions of power -- teachers, community leaders, priests. Just look at Ted Bundy, Jeffery Dahmer, and John Wayne Gacy. Those three were complete and utter sociopaths, respected and charismatic in their approach to groom and lure their victims.
Bumby saw Alice as an object. He saw her as something to remind him of the thrill of raping and murdering her sister (i.e. "you're mad, just like your sister)
He likely would have raped and murdered Alice. He probably has murdered and raped other girls and women.Β
You glorify an abusive relationship--man, calling it a relationship is sugar coating it, it'd be downright torture.. Alice has been abused emotionally, physically, and probably sexually. Bumby is a sack of shit and this pairing is a sack of shit. But you wouldn't know that, because you never actually dealt with a Bumby.
Bumby doesn't give a shit about Alice and Alice didn't really give a shit about him. She was desperate, she was vulnerable and he exploited her and she escaped before he did the same thing to her as he did with her sister. It's not cute, it's not funny, it's fucking disgusting. So much for what you know about canon. Stop trying to woobify a monster, what the hell is wrong with you?

Still, with Alice now fully aware of what really happened and in full control of her body and mind, still the way the game ends it raises the doubt for a third part.

I personally think Bumby is a very cool character, I would of loved if Alice: Madness Returns was a series, Bumby can't just die so easily. At least that's what I think... Anyway even if he doesn't comeback, I am still looking forward to Alice: Otherlands...

Oh and he is the reason Alice's family is dead. The dude stalked her older sister Elizabeth, raped Lizzie in her own home, and set the place on fire.
