i needed to distract myself so i drew up another monster character

this is Dust. they're a member of a race of spirits called the rel, whose purpose is to track down those who commit injustices. Dust in particular hunts those who seek to evade death (by means of magic). the rel spontaneously form from minerals and take on the appearance and quality of whatever substance they spawn from. they stand as statues until their duty calls, whereupon they leave only when no one is looking to carry out their purpose. Dust tracks down the death evaders relentlessly without stopping for food or water, killing the evader with a jab from their tail, and then returns to their plinth.

to see a rel statue move is considered to be an omen of death. they all wear masks, and will only show their true faces to those they are about to kill.

Dust spawned from weathered sandstone and is thousands of years old, considered to be one of the earliest rel. they make a kind of grinding stone sound when they move.
