Description
''There it is!'' screamed the little red haired girl. She looked at the statue, dissapointed. Wasn't it supposed to be more... bigger? impressive? It was nothing she could imagine after what the book promised.
''It love it!'' added the youngest to her cheers.
She didn't understand what was there to love. It was small. Made of simple stones. Surely, it wasn't the artifact the writtings promised. This didn't look powerful for a moment. It looked more like a joke. She hated it.
''Now mommy and daddy won't be able to hurt us!''
She kept silence. She shouldn't have read the book for her little sister. The book was terrifying. The book was evil. The book surely tricked them to bring them in hell and trap them. They would never see the light again. They would be prisoner of that realm. Demons and monster would eat them. They were preys. Little easy preys.
''I am goind to be strong! And funny! And everybody will love me!''
''How will they if we really become demons...?''
''I will be a nice demon! I will be the best demon! We will have a lot of fun!''
''That's stupid...''
''No, it's not!''
She didn't reply. It was already too much for the little being she was. Both her sister and she were now in hell because of that dumb book. If she hadn't read it. If they haven't done the ritual in it, they would not be there. There might have been still a glimmer of hope. Now. I was only dark. Stones. This place somehow felt empty and cold despite the rocks and the heat.
''Mommy and daddy won't be able to say a thing! Demons are free! If we become demons, we will be free!''
''People hate demons. People are afraid of demons... They will try to hurt us...''
''But demons are more strong! They are the most strong! We will be the most more strong!!!'' assured the little ball of joy.
She started to think that the unconditionnal happiness her little sister had was tied to madness. Which could explain why she brought back the book she found. Even as kids, they could feel the book was evil. But, somehow, Aka cherished it. She was always holding thight on it as if it was the most precious thing.
Then, she did the mistake to read it for her. A demonic book. A book explaning how to do rituals, how to do dark magic and how to please demons. The little girl loved the simplest, but also the darkest ritual. A ritual leading the performers to hell. Somewhere where they would face a demonic statue that could turn them into demons. There was a warning, but Aka wouldn't hear it. Even if she would, sadly, her older sister was unable to read it.
''We did good! The statue is here! We will be strong demons! Rawr!''
They did do some first steps to be evil demons. They had to find and kill living critters in order to complete the ritual. They also had to taste the blood of what they killed. And they did. They found two innocent rabbits and did as the ritual asked. They killed and tasted. Aka seemed very enthousiast to do so. As so her. Not so much. But she wouldn't let her precious little sister alone. She cacred for her. She was blind. She would have been so easily lost. Or badly hurt. She was so curious for someone who couldn't see a thing. If only she knew how the world was ugly.
''Come on! Let's do it! Let's do it! I wanna be a demon! I wanna be a demon with you!''
She... hesitated. Whatever could happen, she didn't want to abandon her little sister. They were close. They were each others' support. But, certainly, becoming a demon was not something to take lightly? Would they become even more ugly? She always was told she was ugly because she was albino. She didn't have colors. She had eyes of a demon.
Now that she was thinking of it, she couldn't become worse. But her little sister would still need help. How would she survive, even as a demon, if she was blind and all alone?
''Okay... let's do this...''
''Yaaay! You are the best big sister!''
It was not as if they could look worse than the rest of the family. They did not have weird head or a weak body... yet... Maybe, just maybe, it was better to become demons and not... them...
''So... we had to place our hands on it and... wish for a power...?''
''Yes! Like you read in the book!''
''So... ... I wish... for...''
''No stupid wish!''
She was surprised by the little girl.
''If we wish for stupid things, boom, we are no more!''
Was she saying that as if she knew it for a fact or was she saying it just for fun?
''No power over all or power to smite the bad guys. We need something great!''
She didn't think about it for one moment as she was more concerned about their fate. She was more worried about if they would survive or just even get out of this place. She didn't even spare a thought to what kind of power she would like.
''I know! I wish to know and see things people can't!'' Aka exclaimed as she touched the fox's muzzle on the statue.
The blue flame wrapped up the little girl as she giggled as if she was tickled. The albino took a few steps back, terrified of what was happening. Was that normal? Would she die? Would she be hurt? Shivers went down her spines. Was she loosing the only dear person in her life? Was she loosing her little sister?
Before she could find any answers, the red haired girl was slowly drop onto the ground. She was still giggling as if nothing happened.
''It worked! I am a demon! Look at me! Teehee!''
She was baffled. Was it as simple? Was becoming a demon such a child play?
''It's your turn!''
She pondered for a little longer. Aka's power seemed stupid, but the statue seemed to say otherwise. So... maybe...
''I want to see what is in people's heads...'' she declared as the touched the snake's muzzle.
The blue fire went for her, lifting her from the ground and covering her sight in it. For a moment, everything was that blue fire. She could even hear wispers. Words spoken to her.
You chose well.
You wish will be granted.
A demon, you shall be.
Goodluck.
She saw snake's eyes open before her before they faded to the blue.
Then she felt the ground under her feet. She could now feel the magic in her veins. The power, the strenght of a demon in her own hands. She wasn't weak anymore. Hunger and thirst left her. Not a muscle was sore. She felt like she could do whatever she wanted for hours.
Aka was right to be optimist.
They were no longer weak. And never again they would be weak.
From then on, they would work to be the strongest and no one would do them appart.
