Nintendo just recently anounced their new Pokémon games in the main series, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet (I am definitly buying Pokémon Violet, because purple/violet, duh!). Thus, we got a glimpse at the 9th generation starters! Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly. Such an adorable bunch. The trailer gave me the impression that we are getting, once again, an open world like in Pokémon Legends and I couldn't be more happier! Thus, I am in the hype train once again, just being happy that we have a new generation and a game looking promissing!

Meanwhile, I have MONTHS to wait for these new games, so I can try to have a little bit of fun speculating on the starters evolution, starting with Sprigatito since this is the one (so far) I will choose for this new adventure. I got words on a fews ideas/speculations for this attention seeking cat and went to work with it.

I imagined it could be a Grass/Fairy starter at its final stage since it is quite the cute fella. I've heard people talking it could have a Cat in Boots inspiration or even a Zoro one. Although, I didn't want to go for a bipedal final form since we have a lot of those. I want a four legged cat, kicking ass while responding to those possibilities. Also, EnergyVector pointed out it was/could be a Lynx and I was on board with it. We need more short tail cats in Pokémon! Thus, my idea for a final form was a Grass/Fairy four legged cat with something pretisgious/elusive and of a hero.

I must say it was harder to imagine a line of Pokémon to a different form from an already existing Pokémon. The final form, despite knowing what I wanted, gave me much more work than anticipated, but I was finaly able to make something that felt natural (to me, I could be wrong). Obviously, I had to have a go at a shiny form. I love playing with colors, so this is always the fun part at the end of all that!

So there we are. My own theory on what could be Sprigatito evolution line. I am not convinced that it will stay on all four, but Gamefreak proved to us lately that they are able to listen and improve on our wishes. So maybe there is hope?
