Description

I recieved lot of questions about tips about drawing different expressions. So basically you need to change position and shape of eyebrows/mouth/eyes. try to play with them see how different arrangements of face features give you different expressions. Of course for better results it's good to also stretch/squeeze the face but I'll tell you about this another time here are my results of this very basic exercise taking Offelia as my model. No big smiles becasuse it's really hard to draw them without deforming face ...

on my Patreon you can find .psd file with these drawings -  blank face and all different eyes, mouths and eyebrows so you can play with Offelia's face

I think its possible to draw wider (big) smiles if one is careful about the cheek lines and how the jaw works
A great example is the Joker, he's a character that constantly uses wider smiles to emote the sense of malevolent behavior and if you carefully look, his cheek lines and jaws are in motion.

Well l ll l ll l l but wouldn't eyes narrow in certain expressions, since the flesh gets pulled upwards? or the nose tip, go up and down, depending on the mouth stretching.
