Description After a month's hiatus, college is getting really close on my head that I should do something relevant to what I want in the future. After going to blender, I decided to go much more simpler. This animation was done by frame by frame in paint.net with some copy and paste.

This animated eye is going to be one of my portfolios in my scholarship I'm taking in. Hope you like it

Hello! I see you have a knack for animation like I do, though while you seem to profession more in 3D animations, I dabble more in 2D animation. If you would like, I can give you some pointers to improve your 2D animation skills, that is if you want them of course.

I took a look at your gallery, if that's what you mean.

I saw your bouncing ball animation, and I noticed your use of lines to indicate the ball's movement, I used to do that too, but here's thing. Those lines are supposed to indicate speed, which means they would only really show up when the ball is heading back down. Also, how your ball reacts to hitting the ground says a lot about what it's made from. If it squishes a little, it could be made of rubber. A lot, then probably a water balloon, and if not at all, like your animation depicted, marble like a bowling ball.

As for your eye animation, if you wanna make it really convincing, don't move the iris as the eye opens or closes. I know it's pretty tempting to. I've been there XD But if you look at references of blinking eyes, you'll see that the iris moves very little. What I do is sketch down the iris along with the eye, and each frame I draw, make sure the iris is in the same place as before as the eyelid closes over it.

There's a book, going over what is called the twelve principles of animation. It's helped me a lot in figuring out how to animate! I'll give you the link. It probably does a lot more explanation than I ever could:

Let me know if this helped at all
