I decided to try drawing something semi realistic and work on using colored pencils and TA-DA!It pretty much took hours.
I just got to thinking about FMA and thought about how rarely Ed cries or shows all the pain he must be going through constantly. At least from what we can see..but I bet he breaks down sometimes when no one is around. This is one of those moments. After all hes been through and is going through, the guy needs to cry every once and a while because hes only human.
Which is why I titled it Only Human. Also its a lyric from a beautiful song called Flowers for a Ghost by Thriving Ivory. I love the bridge where it repeats "I'm only human" because it sums up a lot of feelings in three words.
I didn't use reference for this, it was all in my head. My mom is an artist so she gave me pointers since Im new to realism like styles but it was only for a few little things. Ed always has been one of my favorite people to draw. Probably because of the automail, I LOVE drawing automail.
PS: I know..the room looks empty. I did it on purpose. I didn't want the room to be the focus and I hate drawing scenery.

I love your drawing. The sadness from Ed really affects me and yeah, I think he probably cries like that when nobody can't see his vulnerability.

This is a really beautiful piece of artwork. You don't find this kind of stuff for FMA often. The stuff that kinda grabs your soul as you look at it.

It's interesting how in transhumanist stories an invalid can become a superhuman hero.
A setting does not have to be cyberpunk for there to be transhumanist principles in play.
They even handled some of the issues of voluntary augmentation in the story, especially in the train hostage mini-arc, with the dishonorably discharged soldier who replaced healthy limbs with auto-mails. It briefly teased the issue "should augmentation (in this case auto-mail) be used to replace healthy bodyparts for enhanced abilities, or be restricted to prosthetics?"
Along such deeper philosophical issues within the series itself, I like the feeling of this image.
For all that we can become, for all that we can lose, for all that we can replace, some things can never be regained. To deal with these issues is to be human.

This is wonderful and I love it and it's perfect.
It reminds me of a scene from a roleplay my friend and I did.

The picture is dark, it looks like it's raining inside. Which is probably how Ed feels, the darkness and pain inside him expressed in his body language. Very good job!
