Personality - Basil has a kind, pleasant, outgoing and tractable nature. His sense of smell can allow him home in on anything at the Kennels and follow its place of origin. He loves holding objects especially his toys and carries it around the Kennels with such happiness and always looking for someone to play with and his grip on the toy is so gentle that’s why he loves going on gun shooting hunts and bringing back the game such as waterfowl. Even though he has been known to try and chew the furniture, we take his mind off it by giving him chew treats and toys and he will sit there for hours chewing it. Despite this he is even-tempered and a excellent family dog. He has a good reputation with the children of all ages and other animals at the Kennels. Basil is very fun loving, boisterousness and has lack of fear which he has had been given training before he had arrived so he settled down nicely and he is particularly fast and athletic. Basil will only bark at noises, especially noises from an unseen sources but other than that he is very quiet and good natured. Like a typical Labrador, Basil is persistent and persuasive in requesting food which we are constantly controlling his diet to avoid him getting obese. Despite the usual problems with Labradors, Basil has a wonderful nature and is always following everyone around the Kennels and being nosy.
