Description
My entry for the competition running at =Photo-manips , theme of it is Grey. The rules said that black & white color combination wasn´t mandatory, but I´ve been wanting to do a traditional B/W manipulation for a while, so here it is. Inspired by music of one of my top favourite bands, Ulver, so wolves and the forest and somewhat mystic atmosphere was what I was after. Also, there´s no brushes used or anything, after about an hours work on this I decided that I wan´t to see if I can compile a manipulation that looks as much as a normal photo as possible. Of course it´s not that realistic that women run around that close to howling wolves in real life, but anyway, doesn´t the blending of it look good?
I hope you enjoy, and fullview is pretty much a must, the world is in the details.
Oh, and if anyone is still reading this, I hope you all have a great weekend. I won´t be submitting anything else this week since I´m off for a little roadtrip on thursday, so have fun, stay safe, and enjoy the autumn.
Stocks used:
for the model & the foreground
Background is a combination of two photos from [link] and the water on the well is also from there.

A great one, if not for the woman at the foreground a normal viewer wouldn't think of it as a photo manipulation. Look at the lightning, compare the background, and the foreground, than look at the woman, check the water, look again at the women, then the wolfs ^^ She seems to be shaded from the other side, than the rest of the image. Not mentioning, that she is too dark. Dunno, she looks like a bit cut out from the image. Yet, a great piece of work, I kinda like it.

Yeah, I noticed that after finishing it too. Too much work to go back and fix it, so leaving it as it is. Thanks for the feedback though.

Shame that there´s not that much good foreststockpics out there, I´d love to do a series of pics like this, but in a bit more brutal way. Blackmetal inspired art, gotta love it.
Even though the newer stuff from Ulver is unbelievably cool too. But their first albums were sheer magic.

I don't dig too much their new albums, but I know the quality of these great musicians. I guess two albums LIKE THAT is enough
I have also a work inspired on them, "Capitel V" from Bergtatt they are so inspiring...

Yeah, I´ve seen the piece, it looks great. Reminds me of some albumcovers of the nineties that came from norway. I´m thinking of doing something similar nearer the end of the year, I might be getting a tablet nextt month, and digital painting has been my secret passion for a while already. It´s so damn slow and hard with a mouse though. :/

You know, now that I've looked at it again I was wondering how it would look if you lowered the opacity on the girl a tad. She looks a little too dark for the rest of it and it may make her fit in a little more. I don't know, what do you think?

I must have adjusted it so that the forground blends better with the rocks on wich the wolves are on. I´ll check the psd out tomorrow and do some adjusting. Will edit if I can make it look better. Thanks for the tip.

First of all I love the wolves, what a great idea to put them in this manip! Great job of putting this all together, it does look like one photo, and I agree the blk & wht is definitely what's needed here! I think it looks like a sure winner!!

Nah, I´m in no hurry. So take your time, and bug me with a note when you´re done, and we´ll move from there. Have fun with the base, I hope it didn´t suck too much.
