I actually think of them in this manner too! tbh I like to imagine that the Adversary is the elder sibling







and then we get to the au where the Adversary was the original Azazel and is super pissed at Satan for using Dark One as cannon fodder for the basement

I am pretty sure The Adversary is meant to be the "fallen" version of The Dark One, but if you see them as separate entities, then they are indeed blood brothers.
