Description Last Sunday's sketch session, featuring the Violet Blade.
Initially I wasn't happy with the first set on the left, but after revisiting it on Sunday's session I fixed them up and did the rest on the right. I think much of my time went into trying to figure out how to properly shape her hair. I think I've got it down now, for the most part. It was also good to try and show of a few facets of her personality other than "that one psycho chick", so I'm partcularly happy with the far right sketch of her looking apprehensive and unsure.
I'll have to do a few more sketches of her to see what else I can capture. I'll do more full body sketches of her as well since this set was lacking in any.

I have a confession I always thought she was sexy despite me not liking bad Girls especially dangerous ones. But here she seems to be less psycho and a bit more humanized here. I wonder why?

Well-earned kudos to you for continuing to develop the cast members of "White Shadow" aside from Felicia, although let it be said I'm always glad to see her too!

After looking the bottom center and top left picts for some time I concluded Violet is wearing some kind of cumberbund-type thingy.  Does it wrap around her cat-suit?  (Bad pun NOT intended, by the way.)  I thought for a moment she might be exposing her bare midriff, but decided I must be wrong or I'd see her belly button.  I'd wondered whether the fighting costume she's shown wearing here consisted of said cumberbund, training pants or leggings and a halter top or was actually a one-piece suit.

Very much enjoyed seeing some of Violet's other signature weaponry get some screen time.  If I recall rightly, she's got at least three of these precious little stabbity-stabs strapped to each leg.  I'm wondering if she'd wield and throw them in threes?  It would be great to see her packing a fistful of these babies in a future drawing!

It would be like Violet to toy with her opponents (or, more accurately, *victims!*) which is what I thought she was doing in the bottom center drawing.  Was she just scratching the side of her face with the blade absent-mindedly or did she actually draw her own blood?  I found myself hearing her say "I've shed a trickle my blood for you, now you will shed much more of *yours* for me!" before the "veg-o-matic" gets to work.

I think this is one of the first times in quite awhile we've seen Violet's bare arms like we do in the lower right.  Appears the sleeve-length one-finger gloves of her fighting costume are just long enough to cover the dark fur on her arms.  Coincidence?  I doubt that would do much to conceal her identity...not only is it clear she's Siamese from her face but I doubt anyone who gets a good look at her lives long enough to give anyone a description.

These are sketches, I know, but I found myself confused as to Violet's hair color and shade.  In another recent drawing I'll review later, I couldn't tell if her hair was dark and reflecting a bright light above or simply dark with very light highlights.  The shot of her from behind her head on the middle right is a very striking style!  I found myself believing the hair on top of her bob, her bangs and her long ponytail is very, very light and dark on the bottom of the bob.  But then the sketch on the lower right appears as if her hair is all dark.  Does she dye her hair as part of her fighting costume?  Very intresting effects nonetheless.

Epic win showing us a greater breadth and depth of Violet's personality and emotions here.  Seeing Violet's wistful smile makes me think a whisper of humanity lies trapped behind her psychopathic sneer.  And you're right--"apprehensive" and "unsure" are two adjectives we don't normally associate with Violet, although both are clearly displayed in the sketch on the top right.  The one on the lower right, however, is my favorite of the bunch, as it shows a vulnerability and pensiveness in Violet we're not used to seeing.  These kinds of things I believe make a character much more relatable and interesting, which only make me all the more eager to see her story told.

Great work, and look forward to seeing more of her and all the other "White Shadow" cast in the New Year!

Awesome, I like the 3 on the right. In the one with the glass she looks kinda happy, The one were she is touching her bell she looks kinda imitated, and finally the one where she is laying on her back. It looks like she is in deep thought. Really impressive job man.^^
