Squirrelstripe is a fairly patient and loyal cat. He continued to paw after Sandclaw even though she chose another cat as her mate. The two became mates later, but none of their kits survived. He is somewhat close to Cougarflash, Sandclaw's daughter by another cat.

About His Name:
Nothing really special in-story. His scruffy tail looked like a squirrel's, so that's where the first part of his name comes from.

As he got older, he developed a band of orange-rusting along his back from the sun. That earned him the second part of his name.
