I don't feel like dancing, at all in fact, but I dress up and go anyway. Amberley parades up to me with Demetrius. "I see you're wearing a dress again. My influence must be wearing off on you."I snort. "Please, Amberley. I don't like wearing this any more than you like wearing shorts and a t-shirt."
"Well you're here, and that's all that matters." Amberley grins and bends her head slightly, acknowledging my point. "Well? Where'd all your boyfriends get off to?"
"Waiting in the parking lot." I laugh. "Don't worry about me. Go have fun. I'll just supervise all this, since I really don't like social events anyway." I smile, then snap out my wings and turn the dress into my normal black leotard. Adam: "I... uh... I didn't say that. Besides even if I wanted to dance with her there are three problems with your idea. One, I'm a horrible dancer! Got two left feet! Two, Echoes hasn't even finished my bloody profile let alone pasted it for the group to see so no has any idea who I am. Third, isn't Ms. Kitty seventeen or something? Any idea how old I am? Besides it was Michael that said she looked pretty anyway."
Aria: "Alright, Flynn. You're seventeen. You ask her to dance then."
Michael: "I didn't mean... I'm not interested in girls much... I mean... I... oh blast."
Aria: "Whoops, too slow Michael. There she goes... in that 'fetching' leotard. I'll never understand it! Way too cool to look like such a kinky sex symbol!"
Michael: "And some folks might say you're far too pretty to be running around in jeans and t-shirts all the time. They might even go so far as to say you're trying to drive people away who might be interested."
Aria: "You take that back right now or I'll deck you! I don't care if you are my best friend! I dress like this because I want to. I wanted to be liked for my personality and brains not my body or my fancy clothes!
Adam: "Alright alright. Settle down, kids. I'd say you're both feelin' a little snarky tonight. Go get some punch and cool your heads. I wonder if Valentine's balls are like this every year for kids who don't have dates? Sheesh!
