It was a fun experiment for me.
Not something I usually do, as I usually go for the smallest usable aperture.

Beautiful depth of field. Always been a big fan of these sorts of shots.

I only just recently got the 50mm f1.4 lens, mostly to use when I need a fast lens, like at CN or dance performances (which I love shooting). My 16-50mm f2.8 is in for repair at the moment,so I decided this day to experiment with shallow DoF and using a fixed focal length, which is something I rarely do. It was a deliberate assay into forcing myself to be creative in an unfamiliar environment.

Thank ye kindly. I took it on the street while waiting fro =Sadandal to grab a couple of her beloved macro shots. The sun went behind a cloud, and the lighting went nice and flat for me, so "click".

You are the master of finding a great shot wherever you are, this is no exception. WTG

Thank you. I'm actually thinking of running a couple of creativity workshops for photographers here. You get one lens and a given area of what most people would consider really boring territory, and you have to take as many creative and different shots as possible.

That's a great idea - while people can do that on their own, most of them won't. They like the comfort level of a "teacher" there to back them up. Cool stuff!
