As with many of this author's work, this work displays strong abstract and ultra-realism over tones. Near solid colour gives the feel of a modern abstract painting and reminds me of Rothko.
Photographically, it has overtones of William Eggleston who often too shots of what at first seems mundane, but emphasised colour and structure by framing.
Composition is interesting as the shadow wall is on the 1/3 where as the boundary of blue is almost dead centre. The curve in the top left corner prevents the composition from being monotonous.
This picture would not be out of place in a modern art gallery.
I really like it. An impressive image and very commendable for the lack of photo manipulation.
Excellent.

Before anyone continues, might i say that Rothko was a complete moron and couldn't come up with anything as good as this. His paintings are boring, and his style is inadequate at best. Well done to the artist for this picture.

I could not agree with you more. And no negative comments suggested by my reference to Rothko.

Thank you!
I never would have considered Rothko an influence until you mentioned it, but 20 years ago, when I was studying Art Theory and History at college he was one of the contemporary artists I connected with. The intervening years just made me fail to recall.
I don't know Egglestone's work, so I'm off to Google it.

It's a straight photo with no manipulation. I can't draw.

Well I'm biased - love architecture and lines, but excellent.
