personally i feel the manes could work as like a head floof and more neck floof type deal.

I actually like this style as she looks like a real wolf, and a more powerful one physically at that.

One question on those films. Why did the wolves have hairstyles/manes? Grey wolves don't have those. Only the maned wolf, which is not even a true wolf, but its own unique species, has a mane. And not a very conspicuous one at that.

They said it was to make each character look more unique, but it kinda backfired on them.

Well Rawri, I know what you mean. When I first saw the Alpha and Omega wolves they seemed too skinny, weak on the legs, snout was flat, tail not thick enough, and ears were like cats, OMG!!!! But I did like the hair. Especially Lilly's. Hairstyles on animals are what really attract me to an animated movie. So this movie may not have done such a good job, but I think I like them the way they are for their funky characteristic.

aI thought their idea of manes was good. And I don't think AAO is necessarily bad. It's just a kids movie is all. It's cute and has nice music. But, like you said the wolves are just really skinny.

I honestly won't judge a new design alone, but it's also not necessary to change a style either in order to be "better".
For this, I only see a different wolf character, that's all. So changing them to these would ruin the character Kate has already had.
It's just many cartoon movies (which is part of this movie) has usually had new anatomy, and Alpha and Omega is no different. Changing that to generic realism designs is like changing the designs of the characters of The Secret Life of Pets because they don't completely have the same designs as a real dog. It's called an artistic design to be different.
Your art is cool though. It's just designs are not legitimately better in argument if you know what I mean.

To me, the anatomy of the style in AAO was VERY incorrect and not totally appealing. So, I made anatomical adjustments and made them look more wolf like.

I think the point of anatomy style is to be less "realistic" than a real life wolf though. Other wolves had different anatomy in the same movie so they can look different than each other maybe.
I like Kate's style in the movie just the way they are as an art style, so that's why I embrace it as another form of art style.
Though I wouldn't mind a slightly different style as long if the personal charm still remains. Like as long if I can still see Kate.

Nah. The movie was cute enough. Just not great wolf anatomy. I liked Patty and Marcel's designs though.
