I always have proof that they based Night/Light furies off of cats - not just their faces or shapes, but that adorable 'happy dance' that Toothless does to attract his mate? The feral cat I feed and give lovin's to actually does that same thing, like 'makin biscuits' and purring like crazy.

Actually, if you watch the original HTTYD and listen to the director's commentary, Toothless himself was based off a cat. Seems his designer had just recently gotten his own very first cat!
