Description Another Invader Zim fused glass pendant. This one featuring Tak the female Irken's armada logo in red glass. I had to do this since there is very little Tak things out there.

All glass is hand cut and shaped by me and is fired in my kiln at 1500 degrees to get this wonderful shape. All my pieces are properly annealed for durability. This piece is 100% glass not paper or paint on glass.

This pendant is $25 plus shipping. I actually just pulled a new one that I finished out of the kiln since the last ones already sold. I list them up in my Etsy shop and I prefer paypal but I do accept postal money orders. Im planning on listing this one sometime during the week after the bail finishes setting.

FusedElegance In reply to GabbieGoo [2010-09-09 21:07:50 +0000 UTC]

Thanks ^_^

When I first start a pendant I like to look over my sheets of glass and see what colors I have and tend to start from there. I might use a wonderful azure blue for a water themed pendant or a piece of red aurora for a sunset pendant. Most of my work is heavily influenced by nature, though I do enjoy showing off my geeky side and will pull out a few video game based designs for fun.

After I have a general idea of what I want to make with the sheets of glass I have I usually start working on some very rough sketches that I force family members to look over before I decide if I want to make it into a permanent pendant design. When I finally decide on the designs I want to use I’ll work them out on my glass. After I have my design worked out on my glass I roughly cut the glass and I put all of my designed pieces on a sheet of clear that I melt them down into in my kiln for around five hours at temperatures that reach 1500 degrees. It usually takes a good seven more hours for the glass to cool enough for me to take out and start my shaping process. First I’ll saw out each pendant in the shape that I want then I spend a few hours shaping them with a glass grinder. Once everything is shaped and cleaned I put them back in the kiln for another four and a half hours to melt the glass just enough to polish the edges. This extra firing gives my pendants the crisp edges that I like.

FusedElegance In reply to GabbieGoo [2010-09-10 22:29:35 +0000 UTC]

All of the heat is in the kiln. I have special gloves that cover my arms when I go to open it to vent out some of the heat.

Yus I have a GIR thingy just like that in the shape of his head. One side is full color while the other is goth-tastic black and silver. I never really got how this whole production process of these worked... I'm practically broke right now btw, but if I get enough money on my birthday (in October) I'll consider buying.

Here is a bit on how I do it if youre curious on the process:
