Here's a thought.
The fact that the tournament needs HUGE ASS TVs to show their contestants the fight because they are too far from the ring to see the action is a big no-no.
An audience has to see the real deal in order to call it a tournament or any sort of competition.
So can anyone tell me why in the world does it make sense that people immediately prejudice Yang when the couldn't even tell what was going on in the ring?
(Also the fact that Mercury was sending a FLYING kick to Yang that was so obvious that you could be a mile away and BLIND to see it?)

The current theory is that one of the bad guys casted an illusion with his/her semblance, making Yang believe Mercury was trying to attack her, so what we see in the screen really happened.

...Seeing Mercury in the background with that "Ha ha, your girl's getting arrested, fanboys and fangirls" face, really just brings me to a boil in anger.
Pretty much equivalent to what happens if Yang loses a single lock of hair, or even 3 locks.
But yeah, this episode REALLY startled me with the ending. But hopefully, that woman near the end of season 2(The one that saved Yang from Neo and was seen in the post finale credits scene) will end up getting Yang out of this.

I don't think mercury was in the know on that last incident. I think Cinder cast an allusion on Yang without Mercury knowing. His reaction was too.....authentic. I think Cinder might be playing both of them in this case.

I'm not convinced. That would have hurt like crazy and his legs are his main method of attack. Why would he be so devoted to Cinder to take a hit like that? I wouldn't be if I were him. Besides if I WAS Cinder and I needed to stir up some trouble with the Grimm, this is how I would do it. That, and to punish Mercury for failing to beat her in the match.

I think this was planned from the very start, he was meant to lose to get yang in deep shit, when he did get hit he didn't look in pain but he milked it the second the guards and emerald came.

I believe what happened is that Mercury's semblance is hallucinations, because when we saw him fighting Yatsuhashi, Yatsuhashi was hallucinating that he saw Coco right before she was KOed on the other side of the battlefield, where Mercury then was able to attack him. So what could of happened is Cinder wanted to cause distress by letting Mercury to use his semblance on Yang. Mercury probably was hoping that Yang would attack one of his other body parts, and not his leg like she did.

I know but we need to also consider who is calling the shots here. Not once have we seen Cinder explain much of anything to her cohorts. Not Mercury, not to Emerald and certainly NOT to Roman who seems to be the only person interested in what she is actually planing. But seriously, Cinder doesn't explain. She just gives orders. I think she is not just manipulating the match ups but the fights as well. Hence the hallucinations of Coco and Yang. I don't know what Mercury's semblence is but illusions doesn't seem like one of them.
