Description
"When the blood burns, how prodigal the soulLends the tongue vows."
Young Hamlet is the tragic Prince of Denmark and the self proclaimed avenger of foul deeds. Though scrawny, he leaps headlong into the fray and lashes out as violently as a tempest. Assisted by his spectral familiar Yorick, Hammy is both nimble and cunning, feigning insanity and occasionally succumbing to it to heighten his battle prowess.
The Prince has a very unusual revenge-based play style. Each direct hit Hamlet takes increases the damage of his next counterstrike. Combine this with his high stamina, his ability to hurl piercing soliloquies, and truant disposition, you have a fighter to be reckoned with.

I LOATHE Hamlet. (The MST3K episode. I love the play.) The WORST MST3K episode ever.
It...It just doesn't open itself to good humour. Yeah, it's a poorly made version of Hamlet but it's still Shakespeare and that's why it doesn't work. They should have done something like Cat-Women On The Moon or Killers From Space or Attack Of The Crab Monsters or...

I could be wrong, but I think this goes along with Mike's personal challenge to be able to riff -anything- which the rifftrax team did with Casablanca. Hamlet was pretty rugged, mainly because the version they got was so dry. I think they did pretty well considering what they were working with, but yeah... its certainly not one of my favorites and I have a high threshold for tedium (I played most of the Dragon Quest games to completion)

Well, I didn't like the Rifftrax of Casablanca either. It's too good of a film to be riffed on and it's too serious for that matter. I guess what I'm saying here is that I feel that a movie has to have goofy moment or be so bad on so many levels that riffing is the only thing that can save it.

Agreed that the movie was one of the less funny overall, I couldn't help but notice when watching that a fair amount of the riffing was actually merely translating Shakespeare's language into something more understandable.

I can't think of anything too terribly funny regarding this movie. I thought the Brains took a bigger gamble with this movie than "Catalina Caper". I mean...it's "Hamlet"...one of the greatest plays of all time. And Shakespere's language is so good that even if you can't act that well it's got some "non-badness" just from that alone.
But your picture is great, as always. Nice color scheme you decided on, and the floating Yorick skull and vein bulging out of the head are nice touches. Kind of reminds me of Kirk Douglas' Sparticus.

I've gotta say I agree with you for the most part on the quality of Shakespeare, however, this movie managed to ruin it for me. It certainly wasn't one of their best episodes but there are some parts that really do make me chuckle. Especially the skit with the doll with the really long pull-string at the end.
