Description This is a rendering of a 37 Ford. I used one of textures as a background. This is more of an art piece instead of a full design. My friend has a hot rod shop and I was very inspired by his place so I decided to do some Hot Rod art. Thanks for checking it out.

i love that car. those guys who designed the cars of the 30's 40's 50's and 60's are true designers compared to the modern designers

FutureElements In reply to jayhawk-523 [2006-07-29 04:41:27 +0000 UTC]

No I don't mind at all. I design for a company called Troy Lee Designs and I also do a lot of freelance. Troy Lee Designs does motocross stuff and I design helmets and protective gear and several other things, and I also design SEMA cars every year for the SEMA show. I used to work for Hot Wheels as well. So my whole career is based around design and I wouldn't have it any other way. What do you do BTW?

I just graduated college from the University of Kansas in Industrial Design and I work for Ridley Motorcycle Company in OKC,OK. Your work is simply amazing. Sorry but this message back is gonna be a long one. That is soooo sweet what you do and working for Hot Wheels!!! How was working for Hot Wheels and what exactly did you do? Right now I am working on paint schemes for the 2007 motorcycles, a service manual, and a parts catalog! I definetly have my work cut out for me but I think it is going to work out. Do you happen to be one of those Art Center guys as well? I dream of designing sema cars! How is it? Sorry, a bit much here, I am just so excited at what you do! I actually did my thesis project on body kits for a chevrolet cobalt and have been trying to pick up free-lance work for the past year and a half designing bodykits but it's so hard to pick up. Probably didn't help any that I was a student but I'm not sure. Ne ways...probably too much here but again that is so awesome what you do. I am guessing you are in Cali since you worked for Hot Wheels? alright, alright, I'll stop bombarding you with ?'s for now

Lol, naw I don't mind long replys. Yes I did graduate from Art Center and I live in Southern California and it has been so hot. Thank you venry much for the compliments on my work. Doing SEMA cars can be fun at times and not so fun other times. My dream is to design a car from ground up. I have always wanted to build a Hot Rod of some sort. If you look in my scraps section you can see my own personal project car. I will be posting pics as it moves a long. I have a good friend with a Hot Rod shop and we are working together on quite a few things so maybe someday. Well take care and don't ever feel bad about asking questions. If you ever need any help on your work or anything let me know. Take care and keep in touch.

yeah..definetly. Thanks for the response, and so quickly...of coarse, you are "one of those Art Center guys" as one of my profs use to say. You guys rock!!!! I will most likely bug you for help. I went to CCS for a year but there were some financial and personal reasons for going back to Kansas. One of my long term goals is to design cars, the motorcycle gigg is one of those "first out of school jobs" but I am worried about it because I am the only designer there. It is something new to them and I have no mentor or anyone to teach me the ropes about design so I am trying my best to utilize what I learned in school. If it is alright and I have questions about design would you mind answering them as they come up?

well as i mentioned before ive been a fan of the late '60's charger's and baracuda's for a long long time, and those two are of course my first choices. wouldnt object to another nova, or a chevelle...as far as muscle goes. for rod's i really dont know what's what well enough to say specifically...i jsut see em and say pretty

FutureElements In reply to failurecrusade [2006-06-16 04:25:27 +0000 UTC]

That's good you know that because they can become a chore instead of fun if you not ready. I had my Mustang for 8 years and it was my daily commuter and when it broke down it was a chore to work on. I didn't enjoy it one bit. But other time I did. Now I have my car and if it breaks down I don't have to stress because I have a dependable car as my normal transportation. Ok this is really boring and I am babling. Talk with ya later. I hope to have your ships done sometime soon.
