Description
AHA! The feud has ended!!!No man would shyly cover their chests like that!!!
I knew all along she was a girl.
Nothing belongs to me. Chrona and Ragnorak (c) guy who made Soul Eater.
(I have the raw version for the new chapter, and its sooo awesome! SPOILERS SPOILERS maka easily defeats arachne but medusa stole her body somewat, and is revived *with awesome black hair* and stabs Maka, shes okay, some weird thing comes...fights medusa...stuff like that SPOILERS ENED)
Soul eater anime/manga is awesome, watch/read if you dont.

chrona could be classified as a trap or a guy who is effeminate to the point of looking like a legitimate woman, or...
T-T-T-TRANSEXUAL!!!! (no offense was meant)
but this pick would make the trap theory unlikely in more favor of the latter two, and knowing this is a kids show, we probably just found a chest flatter then maka's.
*book randomly splits my skull open*

This doesn't prove anything... As you can see... CHRONA HAS NO BOOBS.

Just a little clarification...
The translators for the anime chose to use masculine pronouns to refer to Chrona due to the usage of the masculine pronoun 'Boku'. This pronoun has been known to be used by females as well, but mostly by males. The author of the series has not yet stated flat out what gender Chrona is.
Despite these facts, and until the creator says otherwise, I believe Chrona to be female, and this panel in the manga (takes up a whole page, too^^) is the semi-concrete proof I have as to her gender. Besides, solidifng Chrona as girl in my mind makes it easier to do yuri with her and Maka, as well as pairing her up with Kid.

Lol, I never knew there were actually arguments over this. It's kind of funny cuz my friend and I were JUST discussing this the other day, he said she's a girl cuz in one of the chapters she wears a dress and I was like or maybe it's a cross dressing boy.

Nope, this proves nothing. Crona barely ever wears clothes that show his/her arms, so he/she'd cover his/her chest regardless.
Remember, this is anime. A curvy, girly figure proves nothing.

:/ But Soul referred to Chrona as 'him'. And he's too shy to talk to girls. I accidentally walked in on my friend shirtless (He was male, mind you. I kid you not.) And he still covered up his chest. Ragnarok likes to bug the crap out of him whether he be male or female.

I think the mangaka wanted to leave it up to the reader's imagination. He said that in an interview, I'll try and find a link to the website. I myself see Chrona as a girl, but Chrona would also be cute as a guy.

..this is reeeaaaallly confusing...
I read the comments before mine and.. well..
Even if he/she IS a girl, I'd still prefer, draw and etc. him/her as a male XD

There's no way that body of Chrona's isn't female, not with the way Ragnorak feeling up on it.

Actually...
Well, I'm sure you've heard this a million times, but I just can't resist sharing some info. Forgive me if I'm annoying.
I've read somewhere that even the author doesn't know what he/she wants Chrona's gender to be. Translators just tend to put he/she for comfort of the reader, I'm pretty sure the Japanese language is complicated enough to get away with not specifying a gender when one refers to another. So the closest translation SHOULD be 'it'.
As for a male character shyly covering his chest, watch Get Backers and pay attention to Katsuki.

"She" isn't a girl. Chrona is genderless.
Any times Chrona was referred to as "she" or "he" or a "daughter" was simply up to the discretion of the scanlators. In Japanese, Chrona always uses ambiguous pronouns to refer to itself.
Why can't anyone get it through their head that Chrona is genderless, has no gender, will never have a gender, and that's the entire point. Why are people so damn insistent on saying she's female or male? Both are wrong and it's clear.

You cant base yourself form this picture, fisrt of all ChronaΒ΄s pose doesnt prove anything since in anime/manga there are tons of guys that usually act, move, etc... like girls... and second of all you canmt see the breats or wahtever so this proves nothing... Crona is still genderless

futurexplorer In reply to rabiduslupus [2009-04-11 03:58:05 +0000 UTC]
but thats just thinking too much. sure she/he could be forever genderless, but all the hints point to a woman. and many girls barely have breasts...i guess we'll have to see wat she does in the next chapter.

Its obvious Cronas a girl, they call her Medusa's daughter so shes gotta be a girl, plus Ragnarok tried to pull up her dress so unless Ragnarok is gay then Cronas gotta be a girl
