Quirk: Betobeto-san
Betobeto-san is a mutation quirk that essentially allows the user to turn invisible as long as there is a certain physical condition met, and involves a unique appearance which usually includes, but is not limited to, pale gray skin, large, strong jaw and absence of visual receptors. Those who carry the Betobeto-san gene are in most cases genderless.
In Beta's case, their variation of the Betobeto-san quirk requires their feet to be weighted down by something equal to or higher than a force of 10 newtons in order to be activated; simply think of their ankles as switches that when pulled down turn Beta's body invisible. While such a specific requirement may come with limitations such as having to wear heavy slippers or weights and needing at least one foot to be dangling in air for its continuous activation, it also comes with the advantage of being able to control when the quirk is (in)active. This allows the user to sneak up on their target and engage in close ranged combat if they wish to, however their invisibility will come at risk of deactivating if they lose balance and put both their feet on the ground. Overuse, naturally, leads to painfully sore ankles.

★ DON'T BLINK [3] — Beta uses their quirk to turn invisible and approach the enemy quickly and unpredictably. Once in a close enough range and having the time and space to focus on the enemies weak spots and their own technique and strength, they unleash a strong physical attack, either by kicking or biting the enemy. Additionally, they are able to achieve a multi-hit while the enemy is still in a state of surprise.
✦ DEAD WEIGHT [4] — Turning themselves invisible, Beta stands in the enemy’s path or its range. Once the enemy approaches close enough, they attempt to latch onto their body without being noticed. This way they hinder the enemy's speed and some movements. Additionally, there's a chance to chain Beta's DEAFEN skill to their DEAD WEIGHT skill, making them able to leave the enemy confused after performing the two skills.
✦ DEAFEN [2] — Using their loud voice, Beta yells as loud as they can in an attempt to not only strain the enemy's ears but to also leave them in a state of shock or confusion. This skill works the best in close range. On the flip side, it may also inflict confusion to their allies if they're not warned about the skill being activated ahead.
● SHIELD [1] — Similarly to the DEAD WEIGHT skill, Beta turns their body invisible and stands in the enemy's path, ready to attempt to stop their advance towards one of their allies. Their main focus is grabbing the enemy without getting hurt, so they do their best to avoid the body parts used for the attack, such as fists for example. This does not always work, however, and it is possible they get caught up in the attack more than they intend.
Strengths & Weaknesses
① Invisibility -- Beta's quirk essentially includes turning invisible. This way, as long as their feet feel heavy, either by walking in heavy shoes, sitting somewhere with their feet dangling or standing on one foot, their figure will be invisible.
② Night “vision" -- Due to mutation, Beta has no eyes. However, this comes with a perk. Instead of a physical image, Beta can build a mental image consisting of shapes only in their head. This means that, while they can’t tell apart any colors or shades, they can pretty much “see" in any light, so long as there's some sound.
③ Strong hearing -- In exchange for being born with no eyes, the Betobeto-san quirk involves a stronger hearing. This serves as a base for perceiving the world as Beta is ― in mental shapes.
➊ Klutz -- Though they have a quirk made primarily for sneaking, Beta themself is quite clumsy, and staying invisible while in place may prove difficult considering they have to stand on only one foot. It'd be better if they sat down and raised their feet, which, again, is a liability in case they have to quickly get on the move.
➋ Loud voice -- There's a reason Beta prefers to stay quiet, and that is their awfully loud voice. If you intend to communicate with them in a sneaky situation, don't expect a whisper.
➌ A clicking sound -- Being able only to “see” with sound echo present, Beta wears a bracelet with two beads at all times that can produce a clicking sound in case they’re surrounded by silence. However, that means they can only see in such cases at the expense of possibly revealing their location while invisible. Beta does not fare well in wide spaces where their voice has nothing to reflect against either.

Sitting in the corner of the classroom with a manga opened in front of them, it is sort of an odd sight considering they essentially have no eyes. Frankly, you have no idea what exactly they are expressing at all as their lips draw a straight line devoid of much emotion. They hold the book up to their face as if to 'read' the pages for no obvious reason. And, they may be sitting silently that way for hours, only nodding at others as a greeting. Truly, Beta to many appears to be a mystery, unreadable. You'll never hear them speak more than a few words at most. Yet those who are acquainted with them would never tell you they're creepy.
"They just come off that way, but I think Beta is pretty ordinary." you'll even hear one of them say. Bearing that in mind, it might become clear why they're pretending to be looking at books while reading them or ‘glancing’ at people when greeting them. They actually don't stand out much from others at all, whether that's their intention or not. Perhaps their ability to turn invisible is not just in a literal sense. Yet it appears that power is perfectly suited for them and their overly curious, even nosy, nature. Mischievous as they are, it is not rare for Beta to listen in on conversations that pique their interest, although really, it never goes beyond listening to pointless dilly-dally chatters and harmless rumors - eavesdropping on anything seriously confidential would just not be their style. In that case, it may come as a shock to see that they are surprisingly clumsy despite sneaking practically being their favorite hobby, but perhaps that is a good thing for those whose privacy they chose to violate. Yet in the end, despite their bad habit of interesting themselves in others' private lives, they are good-natured and do not wish anyone any true harm, and are on the contrary concerned with them. In fact, they will quite rarely share secrets they've found out with anyone. One of the reasons for such may be that they’re aware even their whispers would probably be just loud enough to be overheard by someone they don't want. And that itself is a source of a lot of Beta's insecurities; the very root of why they are so terse, using few words and only when they absolutely must -- their loud, penetrating voice.
The words they don't say aloud echo in their head as they dissect them and seldom analyze their own thoughts and their flow. They are aware of the things they feel most of the time and in a similar way they try to understand others. Beta is broad-minded, as they find enjoyment learning about and exploring different things, which extends to their varied taste in books and manga. They are leisurely and take on social situations in the spirit of that. However, their lack of patience, especially for never changing patterns, they’ll never play the same game willingly more than a few times.
Beta is driven by small things that sometimes just come and go one at a time, but their drive is there until they achieve their goals nonetheless, and it pulls them through boring uneventfully repeating days while preventing them from going insane. But their drive is never to surpass someone, never competitive- they only seek to surpass themselves or help others and nothing more than that.
All that is the essence of Beta’s ordinary, nosy self.

✓ Gossip -- as someone who enjoys listening in on other people's conversations, Beta loves when they catch some gossip during a boring everyday small talk
✓ Strong food -- not having a particularly strong sense of smell, Beta's taste relies on, well, taste buds, and nothing works those taste buds as a good spice
✓ Manga -- for Beta and the others with the Betobeto-san quirk, printed matter is the best when black and white because that way the ink is a tad bumped out of the paper. Manga is printed completely black and white, even the tones that seem gray on first look. this way Beta has clear images in their head of how the pages look like and they love the feeling
✓ Indoors -- Being shut within four walls that “bump" sound off makes for a comfy atmosphere with not many blind spots, and knowing almost everything that's around sets Beta at ease
✓ Warmth -- They very much enjoy feeling other people's warmth, considering that can sometimes give them an image of what the other person is feeling; they can’t see if someone is pale or flushed so this is their best bet. However, they're by no means touchy unless they’re comfortable around someone
✖ Silence -- They can't see in silence; being in a silent room is like being in the dark for a person with eyes, and people are scared of the dark for a reason
✖ Loud echoes -- Echoes confuse them; While being in an environment with lots of different sounds is comforting, hearing the same sound bounce off various shapes with unclear loudness causes the map of shapes in their head to become scrambled and unclear
✖ Seedy/Crunchy foods -- It gets stuck between their teeth and it's too loud to chew
✖ Repeating patterns -- They get boring really quickly

- Despite not having eyes, those with the Betobeto-san quirk are able to read if the printed matter is printed in black and white, since the ink creates little “bumps" on paper.
- Similarly, when writing they tend to press really hard to create “dents" in the paper so that they could later read the same
- Obviously they can’t see colors so they prefer black and white books and such since colored images only come off as bumped patches on paper
- The first Betobeto-san barely reached 150cm but as the generations pass those with this mutation are growing taller again
