My all time favorite game since SNES generation... Oh the memory...How many of you guys have played this game? I feel pretty old.

Ironic how the middle ground kungfu student was likely the one you were meant to pick, but most pick her just to balance out the genders a little.

I actually picked him when I played the game but most people picked her and I wanted to balance the pic's gender so I ended up drawing her too lol

I find it strange that NOBODY chooses the Master to represent the Ancient China Era here for Live A Live. Like, wtf?

I love this game, it's got a neat battle system, interesting characters, great humor, and heart-breaking drama. As well as easily one of Squaresoft's most tragic villains in its day.

Have to agree with everything here. The battle system is really unique and fun, all characters are likeable, hilarious jokes, and one of the most tragic villain... I wish they make a sequel or at least a remaster to it.

To me, the scariness and tragedy of Odio was how even someone as good as Oersted can give into evil when everything and everyone they cared for is taken from them or turned against them and leave them feeling like there's nothing left to lose or believe in anymore.

Yeah while I love all the preparation route of each characters, the story I favored the most is Oersted's route. So deep and tragic.

Yeah, it's got a lot of surprises, and his despair by that point it's easy to see he'd feel like he has nothing left to lose.

I always pick her as the one the Master trains so she won't die, she was my favorite of the pupils. ^_^

Second playthrough feels so cruel... you're left feeling like you're choosing which of them DOESN'T get horribly murdered! ;_;

And the game makes sure you get to know them over the course of the training period, but I'm SURE it's got nothing to do with making you feel more guilty when two die XD. And worse? You need to focus all on ONE student if you hope for them to toughen and master everything effectively for the chapter's finale and of course the last chapter.

All three are given just enough depth to make them likable enough and leave you wanting to help them... and then the second time around you know you're basically picking who gets to live, and who you're basically condemning to death

Romancing Saga and Seiken Densetsu 3 are gems. Never played Secret of evermore though. Will research it out. Seems interesting

Just recently found about this game's existence, for my shame. Gotta me be of the most unique RPG games Squaresoft did during their prime days.
